 Austin Mini '1968' Turbo 1293cc

I have owned this mini for around 4 years now and have loved restoring it to a great standard. This was intended to be used as a weekend/ track car but other commitments forces sale.

This vehicle started out as a 1991 Rover Mini Mayfair 1275cc - I bought this as a rolling sell that was a unfinished project.

I then began a massive restoration on this vehicle. The shell was completely stripped down. all rust areas which was hardly any was dealt with accordingly. The underside and interior floor have been painted in stonechip durable paint (3 coats) and also painted over in final paint colour - Old English White. Both the sub-frames where also painted in the same stonechip durable paint but black instead. All suspension radius arms. back-plates and so on have been stripped down. serviced. painted in hammerite stonechip black paint for long lasting finish. The shell itself has been primed with 3 coats and painted Old English White with 5 Coats. with the roof being painted Black with also 5 Coats. The paint work is in great condition as since its been painted in hasn't been driven or even left the garage its pictured in. I have lots of photos of the painting process. If you would like to see them I have all the pictures on a mini forum -

All suspension and steering components have been serviced or replaced with heavy duty fully adjustable components which you can see in the picture. It has adjustable Gaz suspension all round. with adjustable camber and caster from Mini Spares and Mini Sport

The front brakes are alloy 4 pot calipers from mini spares. Stainless steel braided hoses. vented and grooved discs. these have amazing breaking force!!!
The rear drum brakes have alloy minifin drums.

The interior I wanted to keep as minimal as possible
Seats are Cobra Monaco S's in black which are fantastic seats. really hold you in and comfortable too. They are both on runners so the seat can be adjusted easily and also on hinges so the seats will fold forwards to gain easier access to the rear of the Mini

Seat Belt harnesses are Luke 3 Point harness. side lap straps are mounted securely into the floor. with the rear shoulder straps are mounded around the harness support thats secured into the back bench. Great harness. they don't dig into your shoulders whilst strapped in!!

The Roll cage is a 'Safety Device' Roll cage that's been painted the same colour as the vehicle to help it blend into the Mini.

It has the Mk1 mini centre binnacle. with coolant temperature on the left. Speedo in the centre and Oil pressure on the right. I also have a rev counter that can be wired into the mini. along with a boost gauge.

Adjustable steering rack bracket that allows you to adjust the height you want the steering wheel. finished in polished chrome.
Mountney 13 inch leather steering wheel complete with centre boss.

The exterior has been based on a MK1/Mk2 Austin Mini. It has MK1 front grill. Mk1 rear tail lights and boot. I also have the MK1 reverse light that looks like a spot light and attaches to the boot. All door handles and fixings are included. just not fitted in the pictures. It has genuine 'Arc Angels' Carbon Fibre front and rear bumpers and also Carbon Fibre mini miglia 6 inch wheel arches that are brand new with fixings. These give the mini a great look and finish it off really nicely.

This engine has been built by 'Carlow Engineering' in benfleet and I have all receipts for this information. This engine has not been run since its rebuild as I didnt get round to doing the wiring for the mini. But if you know about minis then you will know that this is a pretty special engine and depending on what boost you run through the turbocharger should be producing around 160bhp. Which is an amazing amount for a car that weights very little.

I have all the components to run the mini on Mejajolt which allows the mini to have mappable ignition. This kit is very expensive on its own.

This listing comes with ALL the components to finish this mini off. The electrical wiring is pretty much the only thing that needed addressing as I have no electrical knowledge this brought the restoration to a halt. I bought a EZ painless wiring loom that is mounted in the passenger side foot-well (see photos) every single wire has written every 6 inches what its for. for example the wire going to the back left brake light has written along it 'left brake'. This harness is a great piece of  kit but just didn't get round to finishing off the front end wiring to the engine and lights.

This listing comes with every single component needed to complete this mini. I still have many items still in there original packaging waiting to be fitted. Also I have 2 cabinets full of spare parts that will be included in the sale. comprising of fuel tanks. wheels. lights. brakes. suspension. steering racks. alternators. original wiring looms. floor mats. camshafts ( one of which is a phase 3 cam for race use) and the list goes on.

Now for the registration information on this vehicle.

The vehicle is originally a   Rover Mini Mayfair 1275cc in beige which i own the V5 documents on.

I also have the documents for a TAX EXEMPT 1968 Austin Mini 848cc again in beige which I will be included in the sale - Make of that what you wish ;)

The vehicle is a true one off and will be an amazing vehicle but I just don't have the time now to complete this mini due to other commitments.

There is so much more information that I have for this car but too much to list. so please feel free to ask me anything about it

I have kept all the receipts I have gained from this vehicle. in excess of £3000

Please note that this is on a running vehicle as the wiring needed to the completed and would need to be collected on a trailer. I could arrange delivery of the mini but only once you have been to see it first and we have made a deal!!  The mini is located in Billericay. Essex

All photos that I have of the build are on the forum linked below
