1991 Mercedes-Benz 500-Series 560SEL

Here is a beautiful. well-maintained (always by Mercedes mechanics) Mercedes 560 SEL. the flagship Benz. The car has 134. 00 miles on it. The original clock did not work so I replaced the entire instrument panel.   The best and closest to my odometer reading was about 13. 00 miles below the original.   

1991 was the last year for this model and body type. It is still the gold standard for Mercedes.  The car has been garage kept and it shows - the paint has a glass-like finish to it. the dash and seats have no cracks. the instrument dials are bright orange and the rear taillights are not yellowed.

Originally purchased by an older restaurateur. near Atlanta. who drove it sparingly. the car was then bought by the family of a Mercedes dealer in Florida where it stayed until I purchased it in 2012 from the widow of its 80 year-old caretaker. If you check the record. you will see that it was titled several times in the same location as it got passed to family members.  I have all the books that came with the car and some service records.

MECHANICAL: The 5. 6L power plant is smooth and powerful. Oil pressure is great and it burns no oil. Shifts are precise. - It tracks straight down the road and cruises quietly and effortlessly at 75mph.

- Steering is solid with very little to no play. The wood/leather steering wheel is from a Mercedes once owned by the Jordanian Royal family.

- Ultra quiet ride

- Brakes are excellent

- AC blows cold

- Car has had routine maintenance from certified Mercedes mechanics.  All wear and tear items have been replaced. Following is a list of the most recent items:

- Wheel bearings were replaced last year

- New Battery

- Spark plugs. cap and rotors.

- New Uniroyal. Tiger Paws. Touring tires in 2015

- Recent brake pads

- New shocks

INTERIOR:

- The gray leather interior is in great shape and the leather is still supple. No cracks or rips in the seats. Note: the original tan seats were "soft" and I found gray seats in like new condition so I switched them out and replaced the carpeting to match.  Door panels are still tan.

- The instrument dials are truly amazing

- The carpet and headliner are in new condition

- The wood is in great shape.

- SMOKE and pet free

- Power seats front and back work perfectly

- Power headrests work perfectly

- Has the original first aid kit and owner's manual

EXTERIOR:

- The Black/Gray paint is in excellent shape. The finish is mirror-like and there is no paint fade anywhere.

- Rust free

- Wheels and tires are like new

- No cracks in the windshield

Buyer pays shipping from Snellville. Georgia or you are welcome to pick it up and drive it home.  It will go cross country without a problem.

If you pay for it. you are welcome to have a Mercedes mechanic inspect the vehicle for you.  I can recommend two in Snellville. if you would like.

ISSUES:

-         The sunroof needs new “L” brackets and the latch for the hood release does not extend all the way.   Otherwise. this car is in near new condition.
