GENUINE MK 2 ESCORT HARRIER .. WHITE .. 39K ...

CAR  For sale is my Genuine MK 2 Escort Harrier . 39. 00 original miles . The car was family owned until i purchased it in 2000 mileage then  38. 8k  its now 39. 3 so she hasn't  really been anywhere . The car still has the original michelins ( although not on it ) and comes with its original bill of sale  and dealer folder  . keys.  lots of  service history and mot. s backing up the mileage . It still has the original dealer sticker ( just about readable ) and number plate . The car was Polyglycoated from new and Ziebarted the former being a paint protection system from the 80. at a cost of £ 45. 00 !!!! ( see bill of sale )   After id just bought it she was featured in Classic Ford and then Practical Classics and just over time i have tidied her up without pulling her apart and had the following done  Rear axle stripped repainted with new leaf springs rear shocks and bearing etc etc  . I then had the engine removed by Specialised Engines in Thurrock . it was cleaned up repainted and all the ancillaries were done at this time . i replaced the clutch not for any other reason than it was getting old .   I then had the engine bay cleaned up and a small amount of corrosion was found on the inner  top wing ( she had spent some of her life near the coast ) not good for old fords. This was done professionally and with great care . she retains her chassis number the original decals these were painstakingly removed and replaced . ( i am a bit anal)   About 5 years ago and after much thought i decided to have her resprayed not because she really needed it but because white does tend to become tired and seems to yellow. Again I didn't want her pulled apart so it was done very carefully and she now looks as good as new.  I didnt have the boot done thats original still   . I could of quite easily of had her stripped into hundreds of bits and put into piles but i just didn't think it was needed and i didn't want to pull the old girl apart .   2 years ago i had the wheels repainted and the bumpers all removed and repainted in correct satin black i also had the slam panel and the battery tray repainted as i chipped it when removing the MOTORCRAFT battery .   She has a period ford radio cassette ( speakers under seats so no speaker holes )  think the speakers are PYE vintage box speakers NICE !!  .  Also there is a photo copy of a Escort Harrier road test which i think is from 1979 from the Daily Express .   BAD BITS  Mirrors and wipers  could do with painting and the drivers mirror has a slight crack . I have bought new fixings for the rear quarter panel vents they need fitting and  new foam doorstay surrounds that again need fitting. I could do these at anytime .   In 1991 she was stolen recovered she was found out of petrol and the spotlights and spare wheel had been taken she was returned home put back in the garage these items were duly replaced by the owner and i have a letter documenting this episode . you could probably still speak to the family that owned her originally if needed . PRICE AND BUYING . I have owned 3 Harriers and restored one  KPV 155V if you know your Harriers you may know that one so I know what I am looking at . I sold KPV to buy the one I. e got and at one time they both sat next to each other in the garage. I have set the price stupidly high and don't expect to achieve this  ( although i hope to :) )   but its offers I am interested in. If I am not offered what i think she is worth she. l go back underwraps . This car ( HARRIET ) as my wife calls her isn't concourse . The 38 quids worth of Zierbart  put pay to that in Jan 1980 but she is the most original Harrier I have seen and as close to leaving the dealers as any in existence. ( I THINK )  You wont find another.   The history alone sets it aside from nearly any escort for sale today . this truly is a rare car and to have the history she has makes it even more special . The car is in storage away from where I live and wont be able to be viewed straight away but i will gladly send photos and discuss the car with the people I feel have a genuine interest .
