GENUINE 1969 Austin Mini Cooper Mk2 998cc for restoration for sale

I bought this car in October 2008 as a retirement project but I never retired. I paid £2500 for the car. It was running well but the body was poor. I took it to Surface Processing to be dipped at a cost of £650 (http://www. surfaceprocessing. co. uk/). I then went about acquiring Heritage Body Panels. I have the vast majority of new panels (mostly from Mini Spares) including:

-          Complete Floor

-          Bulk Head

-          Boot Floor

-          Inner front Wings

I think only the front wings are missing but these are cheap and easy to source. I must have spent at least £3k on panels. It just needs putting together.

All the numbers match. I have the heritage certificate that says the car was built on 17/2/1969 and the V5 that says it is was first registered in Wolverhampton on 1/4/1969. The colour was originally El Paso Biege and Snowberry White.

The previous owner said that he had been told the car had some rallying history. I checked with the Mini Register and they didn't know of it. It does have a long distance petrol tank and some other interesting bits.

All mechanical and body panels are with the car but it is a major restoration. I am including pictures of how the car was when I got it (you can see it's complete) and how it looked before and after the dipping. It only stayed that silver colour for a few weeks. There is now surface rust but it comes off easily. The dipping took out all the filler and rust. leaving just holes. The heritage floor and boot floor are now loosely in but no welding has been started.

The car can be seen in Brixham Devon and will need to be transported. I have a small trailer that I could use to deliver if you are desperate (add 50p per mile from Brixham if you want me to move it.

I checked before listing and see that restored examples are about £18k. This car is a now rare genuine Cooper Mk 2 and has all the body and mechanical bits required to make it an excellent example.

Most sellers seem to insist of a non-refundable deposit through Paypal and payment on collection so I had better do the same. The deposit will be £250.
