If you're reading this description you probably already know that there were only 738 Lincoln Continental Cabriolet V-12 convertibles build in 1947.   You also know that this car was designed in 1939 especially for Edsel Ford to show off to his high society friends in Palm Beach. Production was suspended at the end of 1942 during the war and resumed in 1946 through its final year in 1948. It is recognized as a FULL CLASSIC by the Classic Car Club of America. Original build tag shows car built in Steel Gray May 9. 1947

I was told this car was purchased new by a famous Cleveland restaurateur and upon his death in 2009 passed to his daughter. She sold it to a customer who was a Ferrari. Lamborghini. exotic collector and after extensive mechanical restoration decided he liked Ferrari better. I bought the car in 2011.   Mechanically this car has had everything done except a V-12 motor overhaul.

New or rebuilt are king pins. generator. carburetors. water pumps. electric fuel pump. radiator hoses. remove and clean fuel tank. brake hoses. wheel cylinders. shocks. brakes. exhaust. radio. convertible top and window hydraulic cylinders. hydraulic pump. 5 new tires. rechromed  bumpers. 4 seat belts installed.   And much more. All receipts available. Installed currently is a two twin barrel intake manifold. The 12 cylinders love the extra air and the motor breathes much better. Single barrel manifolds are readily available for this car.

Complete wiring harness replaced in 2012. All gauges. lights. accessories work.

This car has had $30. 00 invested in mechanical restoration before the base value of the car. It is a great dependable driver. It is however an 8 foot car (looks great from 8 feet). It has been repainted in the original steel gray. Show quality would require paint and new top (small 1/2” tear) and a new boot. The interior is new and flawless. There are numerous blemishes and chips in the paint. but no rust anywhere.

This is an exceptional valued at a reserve less than what has been invested in just the mechanical restoration without even considering the base value of the car.
