OVERVIEW

 

Car for car. I bet NOBODY sells more 1932 Ford Street Rods than we do. It is my personal favorite. because old Henry's simple bodystyle can be tweaked and customized so many different ways. and each one is as good looking as the last!

 

This amazing Roadster is the perfect combination of modern and traditional. resulting in a car that resembles something that might have been roaming Woodward or Whittier Boulevard in the 1960's.

 

Please take a minute to read the entire listing. as I provide one of the most detailed descriptions of ANY eBay seller.  and also look at each of the 75 Extra Large photos I have provided.  After that. feel free to call me with any additional questions.

 

 

 

 

DESCRIPTION

 

This 1932 Ford build started with a dream. and a top quality Gibbons 32 HI-Boy Special roadster body.

 

Gibbons has long been known to be one the highest quality body builders in the rodding world. and this body was ordered with exposed hinges. reverse opening "rumble" style trunk. and the optional 2" chopped Cabriolet removeable convertible top.

 

The car was completed. and driven just over 1. 00 odd miles prior to being stored in a climate controlled garage. so it still shows wonderfully!

 

The bright yellow Base/Clear DBCSC Vibrant Yellow finish is still glossy and slick. and shows beautifully in the sunshine or under the street lights glow.

 

Having been driven. show. stored. and NOT professionally detailed prior to this listing. it does show some tiny marks from road debris. touch-up spots. and a handful or so other minor paint flaws. but as the 75 LARGE photos below will show you. it is still ready to grab a trophy at almost any local or regional show.

 

I tend to over-describe little issues. but I'd rather have you suprised in a good way when it shows up in your driveway!

 

The minor issues on the finish are something 90% of sellers would gloss over. and call perfect. I can't do that. so just know that the absolute WORST mark on the car is on the right side panel above the wheel. where the paint has spider webbed due to pressure from a car show chair that was in the trunk at the wrong angle. Other than that. it is pretty much as you would expect an 1. 00 odd mile show car to look!

 

The door and trunk fit and finish is incredible. and a testament to Gibbons quality and reinforcing procedures. They all shut with a new car thunk. and do not rattle.

 

The car comes with a steel 2-piece style hood that is not currently installed on the car. It has its share of light marks as you can see in the photos. and is only missing the front hood latch. which the prior owner placed somewhere his family couldn't find it in. Rear latch. and side hooks are intact and functional.

 

Most people who have seen the car prefer the open look it has. and I am sure you do too. but I wanted you to know the hood is included.

 

The grill on the car has the optional bug and debris net that looks cool. and protects the radiator too.

 

Vintage FORD two-lite oversized headlamps fit the cars style perfectly. and light up the night with ease.

 

Upfront. a vintage MOON fuel tank has been resurrected and is now the coolant overflow reservoir for the car.

 

Honest Charley spreader bars look great. and fit the traditional styling of this rod to a T.

 

The removeable GIBBONS 2" chopped Cabriolet top is in excellent condition. and comes off easily to make this a full on roadster. The top is fully covered on the outside. as well as fully lined on the inside.

 

The windshield on the car is a vintage styled pop-out unit that functions as it should to vent air. It is also equipped with two clear wind wings to defect air around passengers. right and left side dentist mirrors to help you see what you just passed!

 

Firewall is covered with an assortment of cool stickers that are NOT clearcoated over. so you can remove them if you'd like.

 

This High-Boy rides on a custom fabricated chassis using American Stamping rails. and an assortment of bracing and mounting tabs from Speedway Motors. It is clean. solid. straight. and tracks like an arrow at speed.

 

Since it had sat for a bit in storage. it was recently treated to all new wheel bearings. wheel cylinders. bushings. calipers. and a master cylinder to make sure the new owner can just focus on driving it.

 

Front suspension duties are handled via a Speedway tube front end with 4-bar and chrome rod shocks. while the rear gets a 4-bar mono-leaf setup with matching chrome rod shocks.

 

Front disc brake and rear oversize drums haul this rod down from speed with ease. and without excessive modulation. fade. pulling. or wander.

 

Steering is super easy thanks to a manual Mustang II rack unit that makes it feel like you have power steering at all but the slowest speeds.

 

Underneath. a trailer hitch is located in back to pull a small trailer to shows with you. and the former owners SWAMP KINGS car club plaque is yours to pass on with the car. This is Club that does Billetproof and the Garlit's museum shows down here in Florida.

 

A GM 10-bolt rear is stuffed with 31 Spline axles. 3. 73 gears. and is connected to the transmission via a custom cut and balanced driveshaft.

 

Transmission is a GM Turbo 350 that was completly rebuilt and runs a TCI torque converter.

 

A custom fabricated exhaust was built for the car with Flowmaster mufflers to give it a great. mellow hot rod sound. without being overbearing.

 

The machine gets its power from what the previous owners notes say is a small block chevy that was bored to 406ci. and is stuffed with Sportsman II heads. Roller Rockers. a crane cam. Pete Jackson gear drive. high volume water and oil pumps. Holley fuel pump. Offenhauser 2x4 intake manifold with dual 600cfm Edelbrock carbs with vintage high rise breathers. Corvette valve covers with breathers. Mallory distributor. Mallory ignition with rev limiter. aluminum oil pan. Edelbrock air/fuel mix gauge. new gas tank and sending unit. and 10. 5:1 compression so it runs great on Premium gas.

 

The car is not a leaker. weeper. or marker. It starts right up with a turn of the key. idles smooth. and has that great gear-drive sound we all love!

 

Passenger side of the motor also shows the bright red AAAAAAoooooooGAH horn that sounds great!

 

It snicks into gear with ease. and rolls down the road with no issues or troubles at all. I have personally driven the car about 100 miles. and have been in town and on the highway with it without issue.

 

The Walker Cobra radiator. in conjunction with the massive cooling fans on the car. work to keep temps in the 165-175 range. even in our current 90 degree Florida sun.

 

Open the doors on this roadster. and you are treated to an interior that really shows like new. and is practically fault free from top to bottom.

 

The door panels and seat are covered in matching black traditionally stitched leatherette that is in perfect condition with no flaws visible. It is clean and neat. and looks perfect in the car.

 

Carpeting is also in exceptional condition. and is installed over a layer of sound and heat insulating material.

 

The dash is in great condition. and the engine turned gauge panel looks awesome in the car.

 

It is equipped with a full set of Vintage Series S/W Gauges which are. from left to right:

OIL PRESSURE

VOLTAGE

TACHOMETER

SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER

FUEL

WATER TEMP

 

All of the gauges appear to be functioning as they should. and a redundant tach is mounted on the steering column for quick reference when keeping your Red Light King status in check.

 

The column is a GM tilt unit. and it is topped with a cool look three spoke banjo wheel that is leather wrapped and capped with a chrome V8 center button.

 

Lokar handles the shifter and E-brake levers. with the the shifter topped by a chrome piston. and the brake with a chrome handle as well. Both are installed with a matching black boot and billet base cover.

 

The car had a stereo CD unit in it. but the prior owner didn't ever use it. so he took it out. The speakers are included to put in the side kick panels. but they would need wired up. along with a new head unit and wiring. to work.   Who needs a stereo when you have a monster V8 up front to listen to. right?

 

An Edelbrock air/fuel mixture gauge is mounted under the dash. and appears to be functioning as it should.

 

The trunk unlocks and opens to reveal a fully carpeted inside and lid with a 22 gallon vented MOON fuel tank. There is also a box with a custom car cover that comes with the vehicle.  

 

This incredible machine rides on a set of Chrome reverse style rims that are in like new condition. and topped with FORD logo mini-moon center caps.

 

Fronts are wrapped in Douglas Extra-Trac radial tires sized P185/65R14. and the backs are in BFGoodrich Radial T/A's sized P285/70R15. Front tires are like new. with less than 1. 00 miles on them. and no sign of dry rot or damage. while the backs have seen a burnout or two. and have a bit more wear as you can see in the photos! 

 

Top on. or top off. this car is an amazing looking. running. and driving machine that will surely make the next owner the most popular guy at cruise night.

 

With the roof on. everyone we could find from 5'2 and 100 pounds up to 6'3" and 250 pounds could get in and out of the car and feel comfortable inside. With the rood off. well. the sky is the limit!
