1956 Citroen Traction Avant 11 BL California Car

  Heres a very nice 1956 Citroen Traction Avant for sale.

Last saturday I received a phone call from my long time friend . olfram. We both share the same passion for the Traction Avant. After a few minutes of talking he asked me to stop by if I can .
Sunday I went by and we sat down to talk. Wolf told me last year he lost his wife and this year he had triple bypass surgery. He said to me "Thomas I need to sell my toys. 'm to old to enjoy them. Also all the medical bills I had to pay. will have to let the cars go. "
So here I am now listing this beautiful Citroen Avant for sale.
Its a 56 which is the last year for the Avant.
The car was restored in the 90's. Theres a big folder of receipts and photos of the engine rebuild and restoration process.

Here's the result of my inspection. will list all good and bad to best of my knowledge.

The body
The paint is really nice. t was kept in the garage all the time.
The body is rust free. ndercarriage is very clean. ainted black.
Rare european headlights. archal.
Rare early Cibie foglights.
Nice hood mascot. ever seen one of these before.
It has tinted windows in the back
ASC installed rag top. oesnt leak.
Wheels color matched to the body and they show off nice.
White wall tires show some age and theyre wider then they should be.
window and weather seals in great condition
Has the rare "Bird" in the hand crank opening.
Neat exterior sun visor
Original 1956 California plates. ront and back.

The interior
Is very simple and functional
The upholstery is in great shape. o rips. eadliner looks great no sagging
The carpet is gray and looks great.
All the windows roll up and down freely
Small vacuum operated fan on the dash by the drivers side(very cool)
All the gauges. ights work properly
Aftermarket oil pressure and water temp gauges installed under the dash along with casette player(works)
The trunk is clean. t has the battery relocated into the trunk(easier to change)
Has matching spare tire. ools and the original hand crank. Also some extra parts.
The battery is old and wont hold the charge very good it will need to be replaced.
Neat hat holder in the back
Drivers side inner door panel is claimed to be bulletproof. Looks like some sort of kevlar composite.
New windshield wipers.
Horn works. urn signal timer works. ll the nobs are present and original on the dash.

Mechanical:
Engine was rebuilt with photo documentation
Engine bay looks clean and period correct.
Original carburator and air cleaner
Alternator upgrade
Clutch is good
Transmission shifts nicely
Doesnt leak or smoke. dles nicely
Doesnt overheat. let it idle for about 15 minutes while sitting and drove it around.
Brakes are good. owever I feel a drag from the rear wheels. ooks like the ebrake is stuck or needs adjustment. Its fairly easy to adjust so I might take a look at it if I have some time.
The suspension is tight

So here is what the car needs a new battery(I might get one). ome tires and a tune up.
