i got this in 1988 . eeded a good work truck and this has been just that . one owner purcashed from widow . the 396 had just been reman 10 10 . 40 isky miles amore 260 cam . i got 14 mpg with truck fourspeed. ith 700r4 17mpg . now its got turbo 350. uns and drives very good. ut it needs a timing chain. vacum low idle not as smooth as use to  be . but get into it . ery strong and fast!iv used but not abusted so it has normal wear for something this old and it is solid as rock!!#maching 396
