Armstrong Siddeley Motors Limited was in business in Coventry. England from 1919 to 1960. During the 1930's. they produced large expensive cars in competition with Rolls Royce. Some were even used by the English Royal Family. W. O. Bentley joined Armstrong Siddeley in the 1930's after leavening Rolls Royce and influenced the design of their cars. The company produced engines for the British Air Force during WWII. A smaller line of cars to compete with Bentley were introduced after the war and were named after British aircraft.

This car. known as the Hurricane. has a three-position top which can be up. down. or open over the drivers seat. A two-liter overhead valve six is combined with a four-speed synchromesh gearbox. The car has the dual breaking system found in Rolls and Bentley which use hydraulic breaks in front and mechanical breaks in back. This medium-sized car is about the size of a Jaguar Mark V and drives very much like the Jaguar. The car is approximately 14. 5 feet long.

This car is a survivor with mostly original paint. original interior and original top. The car is in good running order. The car has good strong oil pressure. It starts easily and the instruments work.

The car is very presentable as a survivor and was shown at the Masterpiece Concourse 2014. It would be an excellent car to exhibit in the Preservation Class.

As would be expected of sixty year old paint. there is some cracking. paint loss and some touch up. The top appears to be original and is in fair to poor condition. There are some tears in the leather interior. but it is quite usable. The interior wood is in good order. The car was converted to electric windows. probably in the 1970's. and they are in working order. Mechanically. the car is fairly simple and has parts in common with many other British cars. There is also an active Armstrong Siddeley Club which can provide parts. if needed.

This is an opportunity to have a car similar to a Jaguar Mark V drop head for about 1/3 of the price.
