 Here is a chance to buy a rare 1970's convertible Cougar. the Gentleman's Ford Mustang. I just loved this car when I first saw it and just had to buy it. The razor grille with the headlights concealed behind the chrome 'doors' that lift up when you switch the lights on are just brilliant! I got this beauty with my daughter's wedding in mind. and last summer it performed admirably. and certainly turned everyone's head. I am no American car expert but have been told this has all of the same running gear as the Mustang but is a more sophisticated car. in that you get power brakes with discs at the front. so it actually stops. Also power steering so your arms don't drop off trying to haul it around corners. It has a lovely 5 litre V8 that sounds superb and has plenty of power. It was repainted in white and all of the chrome was re-plated. the paint is great. not perfect likewise the chrome is great on 99% of the parts but one or 2 have some defects as shown in the photo's. The interior has the original hi-back bucket seats. the driver's was recovered on the bolsters where it had worn through. The rest is nice and original . It has just been MOT'd and everything works. xcept the radio which is the original. It has the sequential rear indicators but sadly they are not legal here so they are now in the reversing lights. a neat solution. There are good tyres all round and it has the correct wheels that are apparently very difficult to find. It has just had an oil and filter change. and a new set of points and condenser. so is ready to go. I just don't have the time to use the car and have only done 100 miles since the last MOT so it really needs to go to someone who is going to use it. This a good useable car. not perfect but very smart and a real rarity in this country as well as the USA as there were only 1200 convertibles produced so surely a good investment. I will listen to offers around the asking price. silly offers will just be ignored as I am not desperate to sell I am just not using the car enough. I've just taken her out for a spin today and this car definitely shifts! Put your foot down and the autobox kicks down smoothly and then forward motion is very rapid.
