Presenting a 1959 Alfa Romeo Spider 2000 by Touring. This Alfa is in extremely original condition and is one of 3. 43 built between 1958 and 1962. It may be one of the most original Alfa 2000 Spiders existing today. Having 44. 72 miles this Alfa was last judged in 2008 at the Alfa Romeo National Convention held in Chicago and received a 96. 1 point rating. Points were deducted for hood scoops not being vented to the engine compartment. a missing interior engine compartment light. missing heat shield over headers. and for not having an original fuel line between carburetors. The car is registered with the Alfa Romeo National Owners Club "Certificato D'Oro".  (Gold Certificate) 

We purchased this Alfa in 2002 in Bensalem Pennsylvania with 41. 00 miles. It had been untouched and kept in dry storage from 1968 thru 2001. In 2001 it's restoration included new paint and chrome work. new seats and carpeting. and clutch and break refurbishing. This car has been extremely well maintained and preserved. In 2002 a clear coat of the car was completed. the wheels were sanded and powder coated and the trunk and door lock were repaired. Preservation of this car has gone to the extent of purchasing Dentax 80W90 lubricant by Shell Oil required to maintain the original gearbox. This lubricant is included in this auction. In addition we purchased an original Alfa exhaust system from Europe which replaced the straight pipe from the muffler through the tail pipe. Also included is the original complete tool box and complete set of owners manuals.

This Alfa is fun to drive and has a very stable feel on the highway due to its size and weight (2. 96 pounds). It has done extemely well in shows and has collected many awards.
