Seller's notes: This is a 30 year old off road vehicle and shows many visable signs of its age and usage There are superficial rust parts now coming through but the steel is solid 2mm steel so is structurally sound. the rear back door is stiff through lack of use, there is a small tear in the PVC canvass The seats are shabby and torn. new items such as mentioned are available from supplier mentioned in the text

UMM  TRANSCAT

This is a rare. solid. (2mm Steel) no frills (no power steering!) workhorse. a fantastic sturdy short wheelbase legendary   OFF ROADERA batch of UMMs (Uniao Metalo-Mecanica)  were imported for the UK market   from Portugal - Hence the  right hand drive.  This model of which there were several body types. is  a Pick up. the Transcat  is the earlier model (Alters came a bit later) Look them up on line there is lots of information about them out there and a really helpful Umm owners club
 New  parts are available  from an English speaking supplier in Portugal who has every thing available  from the old UMM factory  to restore this vehicle to its former glory.

 Seats (these ones are shabby and could do with replacing or reupholstering. I have a pair of rear bench seats to go with it. these  are not fitted at present.
I have owned this  Transcat for 21 years.  as only the second owner. a fairly comprehensive service history is available.  For sale reluctantly. It is not getting the use and attention it deserves and I don't have the space to store it.
 The cab heater is not currently working the heater  needs rewiring.
 Every thing else functions.
 The Engine. Peugeot diesel 2. 3. always roars into action.
 The old Umm is in need of general  cosmetic care. paint. nbsp; and things tiding up. rust parts are now visable in the roof of the cab. Its last repaint was four years ago but  lives outside.
It  has been kept mechanically sound  with regular  servicing. filter and  oil changes etc.
The Brake Drum system was completely rebuilt earlier this year
The leaf spring suspension system was rebuilt five years ago
