MK 1 ESCORT TAX EXEMPT.

Here is my mk1 for sale. irst of all I am in no hurry to part company with this little gem. I am actually in two minds and am not strapped for cash so I'm just testing the water really! Here's the story then. I purchased this car approx 2 1/2 years ago from Malta with all good intentions of  re-building the whole car and using it for fun as I used to own one when I was 17 and felt like re-living me teens! Ha!  Well I purchased the car and got started. I fitted all new window rubbers and inserts. brand new calliper s and pads. heel bearings. ear wheel cylinders. 1600 sport struts with lowering springs. ingle leaf poly bushed at the rear. then had it MOT'd to enable me to register the car in the uk. t was no problem so now I am the first owner v5 in my name and tax exempt!!!!!!!  The car is blue metallic with a white roof. this is a real good look and a bit different to all your usual mk1 colours. It has been pumped full of wax oil in Malta that and the combination of a nice warm dry climate means this car is rock solid and is one real straight car. I have been involved with these cars all my life and no exactly were they rot. everywhere!!!! Which is the reason I didn't buy a uk car. you can look straight down the inside of the quarter panels and see how they are meant to look with the original arches and swadge lines and no nasty filler! It sits on brand new 7 x13 superlites with brand new stretch over Pirelli drago tyres 45 profile looks awesome! I also fitted clear front indicator lenses and the black and grey number plates that was the style I was going for and I really love it.  My next job was to pull the old 1300 engine out and put a nice pinto back in with a 5speed box unfortunately I never got round to it but I have been collecting rare parts for till now I bought a 2 litre pinto witch I removed from the Capri myself. this engine is not a 205 but the old type I believe it's stamped 185. it is sweet as a nut probably one of the quietest pintos I have owned no cam or tappet noise what so ever no blue smoke and is nice and dry. I here these are worth more now a days to the stock car world! I then got hold of a good un damaged rs2000 sump and oil pick up. rs2000 engine mounts. a rare alloy gilled rocker cover. 4 branch exhaust manifold. big valve head with fast road cam and dgas carb. 5 speed type 9 boxI also have tons of spares 2x interiors one leather one cloth I no the cloth one is rare it has head rests. diff. lights. heater. ocks latches. handled. clocks. wood trim. centre console etc.  The car is currently complete with the 1300 4speed in it but it all goes together. it it what they call a heavy duty shell with skid plates. attery in boot etc just needs putting together by someone with more time than me. I bought a bike and realised you don't get more of a buzz than that so now I am looking to move it on. if I don't get sensible interest I will just keep it as I am in no real need to sell simple as that I have all the relevant paperwork for the car it still has the original vin on the strut top it has had a pair of wings in its life and that's about it it's all good believe me! I am pricing the car at £4995 as it owes me a lot more and I am realistic. If your reading this add you won't need me to tell you these cars are going up in value and to find a rare 1971 car that is as solid as the day it left the factory does not happen every day.  Most have had so much welding to scrape it through mot each year and are mainly rot boxes. I am sure I have not listed every thing as I have forgot what I have collected over the years. It would be great for a quick engine change then enjoy or even a real good start for a rally car etc. the car is located in plymouth and I am a busy man so please don't ring me with silly offers as I said no rush to sell but serious buyers are welcome to call rob on 07795030914 and I can give any info needed. also forgot to mention solid doors boot bonnet arches!! Cash on collection only no tyre kickers or thieves.  Collection can be flexible as long as I have taken a deposit
