I bought this car earlier this year. as I've always wanted one! I run a classic car business but this is a personal possession. I've just started another project so sadly it's time for this one to go.

It's nice to see one of these that hasn't been patched up and messed around with too much. With only 3 previous owners and 65. 00 miles from new. and will come with 12 months MOT. The car has been featured in a magazine (4-page spread) and has loads of paperwork with it. including its original service booklet and even some parking tickets from the late 60s!

In recent years. the car has had some very sensible work done. such as Spax adjustable dampers fitted all round. along with 4-pot front calipers and vented discs from an XJ6. It's also had a full respray in its original colour. along with new door and window seals throughout. This was because the original paint was becoming tired and flaky. rather than there being any bodywork issues! You'll see in the pictures that the lines and gaps are all nice and straight. so has obviously never had replacement doors fitted. Structurally the car is nice and solid. having had new jacking points fitted a few years ago. Sills. wing-bottoms. door bottoms. and the bottom lip of the boot lid are all very solid indeed.

The interior is very original. so don't expect it to be concourse. The wood has an excellent age to it. as do the leather seats. It smells fantastic! Door cards are in good order and the headlining is the original.

It's recently had a new set of Hankook tyres and the wheels were painted at the same time as the car. I have the chrome embellisher rings to go on. along with the rear screen trim. but decided against fitting these as I think the car looks great as it is! Also included are a set of Coombes style spats which are also painted the correct colour.

It fires up readily and pulls strongly and evenly through the gears. The auto box selects gear nicely and changes are smooth and sweet. unlike many that I've driven in the past. It doesn't overheat in traffic.

It's not a show-winning car but is very presentable indeed. and has been 100% reliable whilst I've owned it. If you're looking for a Mk2 that hasn't been messed around with. and is nice and solid – then this is probably the one for you! I've priced it very sensibly. and it's a lot less than a dealer would be asking for a car in similar condition. A couple of boxes of spares will be included in the sale. too.

I strongly recommend viewing the car if you plan to buy. I've described it as well as I can. It is sold as seen with no warranty because of its age. and it must be inspected before you hand over any money. All funds must be cleared before the car can be taken away. UK BIDDERS ONLY. PLEASE!
