Stunning 1986 Citroen CX Pallas Auto

The Citroen CX is a car that was way ahead of its time.

It was launched in 1974 as the successor to the now legendary DS range. and was highly acclaimed by the press. being voted Car of the year in 1975 CX refers to the cars aerodynamic shape

Citroen spent a fortune on developing the car. and the result was spectacular

Easier To Drive Than Its DS Predecessor. It was fitted wih an improved version of the DS's unique interconnected hydropneumatic suspension which in terms of ride comfort is even today superior to virtually everything else on the road Rolls Royce still uses it under licence!

The CX also features Citroens unique self centering power assisted steering. and their powerful braking system.

It improved considerably on the iconic DS as a drivers car. . and is certain to become a design icon like the DS

Octane magazine recently tipped it as a sure future classic

This particular car finished in metallic Gris Vulcan is in great condition inside and out - with none of the rust problems that often afflict the CX

These later cars were evidently built with higher quality steel than those built in the 1970s and early 1980s

The attractive and unusual blue velour upholstery and grey carpets show no real wear. and again the design of the interior although quirky to some is very practical and attractive. and the unusual revolving drum instrument binnacle and switchgear all within reach of the drivers fingers make perfect sense. You wonder why no one else thought of it.

Front and rear seats are supremely comfortable

This car also features the more desirable stainless steel front and rear bumpers in addition to the revolving drum instruments . The bumpers were replaced with unattractive plastic ones. and the instruments replaced with conventional ones in 1987.

This is the 2500 IE Pallas or luxury version. which comes with the more luxurious and higher quality interior trim. upholstery and carpets

It is powered by a fuel injected 2500 engine coupled with a smooth automatic gearbox. which suits the car better than the clunky manual.

The car drives beautifully. and the unique steering and braking only take a few minutes to get use to.

There are only 5 of this model still on the road. and 4 more on Sorn

As a collectable classic this model with the stainless steel bumpers and revolving instruments is the one to go for. and it is doubtful if there is a better example around

The suspension all works as it should . s can be seen from the photos. and has been recently checked and overhauled by Plaiedes. ho are acknowledged to be the experts on these cars

Central Locking. Electrically Operated Front Windows 4 Headrests & Rear Armrest. retractable rear blinds and rear sun visors are standard items and the only non original feature in the car is the DAB radio

The car is fitted with original CX alloy wheels. and comes with the original spare steel wheel. a spare alloy and the original Citroen hydraulic jack with handle

It comes with service history. original owners manual and stamped service book together with a file of receipts etc. 2 sets of keys
