Today I have for auction my 1940 Ford Coupe that was semi built by George Barris who is reputed to be the American King of Custom Car builders(BATMAN CAR just sold for over $4. 00. 000. 00<KIT<DUKES HAZARD<MUNSTERS etc) I spoke with Georges daughter and she confirmed the companys involvement in the build and sent a certificate to confirm it. Car was an original all steel car. mods carried out areROOF CHOPCARLSON TOPCHANNELLEDFRENCHEDNOSEDSHAVEDDECKEDLOUVREDBasically you name it its been done
I bought this car is California several years ago. It was originally fitted with tri pack rochesters. The work carried out on this full blown custom is unbelievable. The quality of work is as only a top cusom builder could perform. The body is super straight and rust free. This is an older conversion so does have some marks. It has covered less than 500 miles in the time I have owned it and has always been garaged with a car cover over it. I would think this car derserves to take top show awards any where it goes. It has never been shown in the UK as I am the original importer to the UK. I still have the original Californian title. All Uk duties and vats are paid. It is UK registered. TAX and MOT exempt. I work from home so viewing is highly recommended. I cannot truly describe how awesome this car is. If you drive it down the street the traffic just stops dead for people to see it.
MECHANICALLYI believe it sits on an early Camaro front clip with a 400 small block that I have just rebuilt totally. New parts fitted are Offenhauseur aliminium  intake. barrel vacuum secondary Holley. lock rebored with new pistons/rings. il pump. nbsp;timing gears/chain. uel pump. eads rebuilt.  . BODYThe original  inner fenders have been removed and replaced with polished stainless steel units that have been louvered. Hood hinges have been chrome plated. Underside of the hood has been hand pinstriped in red and blue . the hood has also been louvered.  Body has been chopped and is faultless with no stress cracks .  All windows are glass with a front period split screenFirewall has been smoothed with all unnecessary items removed The firewall has then had an amazing RAT FINK MURAL painted which really is something to behold. It is surrounded by hand pinstriping. The car has the Barris famed Rat Fink emblems on wings and dashboard. Car is hand pinstriped under hood. irewall. ash. oor jams and trunk.  Car is not concourse but is very nice could be brought up to absolute show stopping standard with very little effort. Has minor chips and marks on paint. Ive owned for over  6 years and was probably built about 15 years ago. Look at what this is worth in the USA work out the cost of shipping and see what a bargain you are getting. Im only selling as I fancy a changeThis is a true all steel hot rod with fantastic pedigree. Not rushed to sell. This car can only go up in value. Registered as 1940 and title shows 1940. Car really has to be viewed to be appreciated. True Hot Rod enthusiasts will understand the builder and the rarity of this car

I know for a fact that my friend Bill Michaelson of little canada mn built this car in the early 90's > George Barris had nothing to do with it. the car was featured in street rodder magazine october 1992 page 96.
