Mercedes W123 Estate in metallic Manganese Brown with Parchment MB Tex interior. This car has been subject to a complete restoration and is now in absolutely stunning condition. I genuinely believe this to be the best W123 available at the moment. I am not aware of any other car that has had this level of investment. I have never seen another one that has been fully restored. making this quite a unique prospect. Even the very nice. original cars will be starting to submit terminal rust. This one has just begun its new life and has none of the usual W123 problems.

I bought the car as common or garden W123 from ebay and it was pretty much as per the ones you see for sale on here; just another 30 year old W123. I knew it was not financially viable to restore one for profit. but just love the W123 and think it makes the perfect family car. which is what I have been using it for. This is probably why they just rot into the ground; no one wants to spend the £10k or so required to restore them.
After purchasing the car. I had it assessed by a professional restoration business and then stripped back to bare bones. All doors. wings. bonnet. glass. trim. etc was removed and the car was rubbed back to metal. A few of the usual rust patches were revealed and dealt with. New front and rear wings were purchased along with a new bonnet. The car was then repainted and put back together. Although this sounds quite simple. it was an in depth and painstaking process. removing 30 years of wear and tear. all in. this stage took about 4 months of work. again by the same professional restoration company. I have numerous photos of every step of this process. along with all receipts.
The car was also checked over mechanically and received any new parts as required. It was also given a full service. Just as importantly and quite uniquely. the Self Leveling Suspension was completely renewed. This included a new pump. accumulator spheres and shock absorbers The shocks alone were £500 are usually enough to put most W123 owners off when the value of their car is £2000. I have receipts for around £1500 for suspension parts and labour. It was MOT'd in March and is in excellent working order. It has the legendary W123 reliability and is a real joy to drive.
The interior was quite tired and has been replaced with MB Tex perforated Parchment seats and door cards. These are in excellent condition. The interior is in fantastic condition for its age. with just a bit of wear to the cargo area carpets. There is a new Sony stereo. with upgraded speakers front and rear. The steering wheel has been replaced with a very nice vintage wooden rimmed item.
This really is a stunning car and must not be confused with the other cars available. They are all now approaching the end of their useful lives due to the well documented corrosion problems. as well the failing SLS units. leaks. etc. This car is just starting out and has had every potential issue attended to. I use it every day and it has been thoroughly fettled. This is a W123 for people who cant be bothered with old car problems and mustiness and just want to enjoy the car as it should be.
The car comes with all receipts for work done and parts bought as part of my restoration. They are stored in a thick ring binder and I stopped keeping track of the total at around £10k. All original parts (indicators. grill. steering wheel) have been retained and are included in the sale.

Thank you for looking.

I’ve. Been waiting W123 wagon for decades, currently I have a 380SEL and have owned it 10 year + But I looked for it for 10 years before finding this one. If successful would ship the 230TE wagon to Australia where I live.

My bid $6800 GBP, hope you find this acceptable.
