Ford Escort mk1 Estate

For sale is my 1973 Ford Escort mk1 Estate 1300 base model in it's original colour of Sebring Red and only having covered just 40. 00 miles. The story goes that the second owner purchased this superb Escort Estate when it was a little over two years old. He obviously cherished his new vehicle and maintained it meticulously for around fifteen years. at some point in 1991 he drove back from a regular trip to his local shops and parked it up as always in his garage. Sadly that night he passed away and his much loved car just sat literally untouched until being discovered in September 2013. It was lightly recommissioned requiring very little work and then only covered another 73 miles before I was fortunate enough to take over ownership in January 2015. The car has had some paint over the years but this would of been carried out pre 1991 and all looks fantastic. however I haven't managed to find any signs of welding and the chassis number is still clearly visible on the original top plate. The exterior is in extremely good condition the Sebring Red paintwork shines beautifully and all the chrome work. bumpers. mirrors and all trim are superb and gleam nicely. The interior is original and is in excellent condition the vinyl seats front and back are perfect with no rips. burns or worn stitching. The headlining and sun visors are also excellent and unmarked as are all the door cards right through to the load area. Original rubber flooring is superb. dash and steering wheel excellent. Fitted under the dash is a working period Blaupunkt radio with a matching speaker built into an after market period centre console all retro cool at it's coolest!  1300cc engine has only covered just 40. 00 miles and is quiet. smooth and sweet running. The gearbox is four speed manual with typical Ford easy action and very tight. Brakes are superb and benefit from a servo that was fitted standard to the Estates and Vans so has a far more modern feel to them. steering is very responsive and extremely light. This Escort Estate has an MOT until April 2017. drives beautifully and just as it should. it looks fantastic and personally I think it is a great shape. coke bottle sleek. Obviously these days they are extremely rare especially in this untouched. unmodified original superb condition.   The sale is a reluctant one I have no doubt I will probably regret letting it go. if you require any further information or would like to arrange a viewing over a cuppa please don't hesitate to call me.
