1977 Mercedes 350SL R107

A beautiful. low mileage Mercedes-Benz 350SL Automatic for sale. This vehicle was recommissioned last year. when we bought it. after 13 years of dry barn storage with our neighbour. The mileage is genuine. and the vehicle comes with comprehensive service history and receipts up until it was decommissioned in 2002.
This vehicle is factory fitted with electric windows. central locking and automatic gearbox. The hood was also new before it was laid up. The original Mercedes tool roll and jack are still with the car. as are all the original books.  
Last year we bought this car from our neighbour and. between us and a local Mercedes specialist. recommissioned the car by giving it a major overhaul with an end cost of nearly £4000. The work carried out is as follows and has a receipt to prove all work carried out by the specialist: 
- Replaced ignition coil. spark plugs. distributor cap. HT leads and rotor arm- Replaced fuel injectors and seals- Replaced all brake pipes and front brake callipers.  - Replaced front wheel bearings- Removed fuel tank for complete professional clean out and overhaul. refit- Replaced fuel pump. filter. and accumulator- Replaced fuel pump relay- Remove fuel distributor for professional overhaul. refit- Remove fuel warm up regulator for professional overhaul. refit- Flushed out fuel lines- Replace rubber fuel lines- Weld both structural parts of outer sills (in the wheel arches). - Replace coolant hoses- Carry out full service- Replace brake fluid. coolant and oil.  
The car now runs and drives like a dream and we have been using it this summer. However due to a change of circumstances we now need to sell it. The original metal hard top is included with the sale. and the car is completely original and standard as can be seen in the pictures.  
Because the car has always been dry stored. the plenum chamber (a well known rust spot) is completely free of rust. To ensure it stays in such a condition. the chamber was thoroughly cleaned and waxoyled recently.
There are a few negative points. as to be expected with a completely original and unrestored car of this age. these include:
- Small hole and bubbling in parts of the outer sill. as pictured. - Driver's seat has a 1" tear in the backrest bolster. and a couple of small holes in the base- Bottom of passenger door has had a bad paint job. but not noticeable at a distance- Could do with a set of tyres as these have gone a bit hard.  - Electric aerial doesn't always retract or extend.
The MOT runs out in September this year. but will be given a fresh one before sale.
