Mercedes Color Code is 623H - Hellelfenbein (Light Ivory). Interior is Mahagony MB-Tex.
First owner bought the car new from local MB dealer in 1973 and sold it to the second owners in 1976. Second owners (a couple in Santa Rosa) then owned it for almost 40 years. until 2015. It was one of their daily drivers and they took amazingly good care of the car. They told me it was maintained by RAB Motors in San Rafael and European Sales and Service in Santa Rosa.
Holley carburetor conversion was done by second owners. After warmup. car idles and drives very quietly and smoothly. You can barely hear the engine when stopped at a light. Steering is tight. Transmission shifts smoothly. $3500 of recent work by well-known Bay Area Mercedes mechanic (Steven Lukacsy at Auto Europa in Richmond. CA - see Yelp Reviews). including: new engine mounts. transmission service. new rear seal for the trunk lid and full service. He addressed everything that needed fixing (with the exception of the AC).
MB-Tex interior is in excellent condition. Small tear along seam in passenger side seat. but otherwise very clean original seats (see photos). Original headliner is still like new. Carpets in very clean condition (have been protected with coco mats that come with the car). Light surface rust in the trunk due to a leaky trunk lid seal which has been replaced with new OEM seal. Very small dimple on the front right fender. just above the rocker panel (hard to notice unless you look very closely). Otherwise the body. paint and chrome are in phenomenal shape.
See photos of the clean rust-free rocker panels. wheel wells. jack points and undercarriage.
Car was recently professionally cleaned and waxed and detailer was extremely impressed by the condition/thickness of the paint. Previous owner always hand-washed the car. Newer tires (still have plenty of tread). Factory AC is installed but is not currently working. Heat. blower and radio work fine. Car comes with original maintenance book and owners manuals. etc. from the first owner. Car is privately owned. garaged in Berkeley. CA. driven regularly and is currently registered with its original blue CA plates through Feb 2017.
All potential buyers are welcome to inspect the car.
Clean title. Pink slip in hand. Happy to answer any questions.
