1957 Thunderbird “E-Bird E-Code” for collectors who like the Rarest of the Rare!

The 1955-1957 Ford Thunderbird has been a collector car almost since its introduction.   Many auto enthusiasts consider the iconic two-seater 1955-1957 Thunderbirds to be the best looking Thunderbirds ever made. if not one of the best looking cars ever made.   The timeless. two seat design is recognized worldwide but when you see a 1957 T-Bird with two tops and all the power equipment including air conditioning and find one that came from the factory as an “E” Bird you have the rarest of the rare.   Yes folks. you become the center of attraction at any Thunderbird Club event.

Again. these iconic 1955-1957 Thunderbirds are always a big favorite but when you add the rare E-code Ford factory hot rod engine with the fabulous Colonial White paint you have a real a winner. Collectors always love to point out what makes their car special and you will have lots of bragging rights with this car!

The private seller tells us that he bought this 1957 Thunderbird E-Code. VIN # E7FH3xxxxx in August of 2003 after searching for one for years. Data Plate is 40 EE XK 13 F 3 1

The car features the rare E-Code 312 V-8 Engine. dual carburetor. power brakes. power steering. power windows. power seat. original radio (modified internally with AM/FM/Bluetooth). after market air conditioning. original porthole top and after market convertible soft-top.

The car has been repainted in the original exterior color “Colonial White E Code” with the “White XK” interior.

The car was delivered to a dealer in Milford. MI from the Ford factory in Dearborn in June 6th. 1957. Private seller also has a copy of a Florida title dated Feb. 13th of 1978 in the name of previous owners. (they were the owners prior to the seller he purchased the car from) which covers the history for the last 38 years.   Remember provenance can only be had if you have the paper work to prove it.

In 2004 this car received First Place in a Concours d'elegance; and the car has participated in 3 or 4 rallies over the years.

The car has been parked indoors all these years. kept in fine condition and driven two or three days a week in nice weather.   The car does not see wet weather.  

The private seller always keeps this car up with regular maintenance. oil changes and even improvements almost every year. Maintenance during the seller's ownership includes new electrical wires. a brand new fuel tank. brand new Coker radial tires (including the spare tire). new battery. nbsp;new door trim panels.   In addition the private seller has upgraded the car with an electric fuel pump. upgrading the original radio with an AM/FM/Bluetooth interior.   Upgraded with a bigger fan for the air conditioning.   Odometer reads 10. 41 (actual mileage unknown).

To get the relevance of a 1957 T-Bird in its day. keep in mind that as beautiful as the 1957 Corvettes were that year. the more beautiful  1957 Thunderbirds outsold the Corvettes by about four to one.   Here at MissChiTown we find that collectors have a lot of different reasons for collecting the cars.   We think you will agree that a 1957 Thunderbird meets most of a collectors requirements because not only is it extremely beautiful to look at but it is a joy to drive.   The T-birds were labeled personal luxury vehicles because in addition to performance and attributes of most sports cars. they featured more comforts than other sports cars.   The fact that this 1957 Ford Thunderbird is sporty and one of the most iconic cars of the 1950s makes it a desirable collectible. it has the power equipment including after market air conditioning. both hard top and an aftermarket convertible top. and the icing on the cake is the E-Code engine.   Note that the E-Code engine has two four barrels and all the other equipment that came with the E-Code that made the E-Birds super fast!  So think about it. how often do you see a 1957 Thunderbird E-Code for sale…not very often. if at all.
