For your consideration is a excellently restored Chevrolet 1543 WWII Canadian Built. Royal Air Force flat bed truck.   This truck has been has been housed in a museum for the past 30 plus years!  The truck is a very rare right hand drive model made by General Motors of Canada for the Royal Air Force in during WWII. This 3 ton truck represents a category of truck introduced in 1939 known as the Canadian  Modified Conventional Pattern Truck (MCPT).   Up to the declaration of war in 1939 the Canadian Army relied largely on commercial trucks of American design.   Most of these trucks were used by RAF service units in Britain.   Chevrolet. Chrysler. and Ford all manufactured MCPT trucks.  

The Truck measures 24' long by 7. 4' wide by 7' tall and weighs 3 1/4 tons.   It is equipped with 216 cid in-line 6 cylinder gas engine that has a four speed transmission.   It has four forward gears and one reverse.   These trucks had a max road speed of 50 mph.   Wheel base is 160".  

This truck has been restored prior to being placed on display in the museum.   All metal surfaces appear to be adequately finished and display well.   The interior of the truck is very good and complete with gauges and wood steering wheel that is set up for right hand drive.   Tires are weather checked but hold air when pumped up.   The engine appears is very complete and does not appear to be "stuck".  Our assessment of the vehicle shows that the truck will need the fuel system cleaned. brakes serviced. and starting system serviced at minimum.  Additionally the drive shaft has a bend in the outer cover but turns freely and the wood steering wheel has some small hairline cracks which is very common on older wood wheels.  Overall this truck is very nice and complete for its age and could be excellent with a little TLC!
