1966 USA Ford Futura Sports Coupe XR XT Falcon 289 V8 4 Speed ON THE Floor

This Coupe is one of the tidiest running examples of the classic USA Ford 1966 Falcon coupes. Recently pass full unrestricted South Oz Rego and running around the Adelaide Streets. This 66 is one of only 2. 70 originally produced as V8 C Code Coupes. This is the coupe we didn't make but all wanted.

The Facts:

Built on the 30th March 1966 in the Kansas City Ford Plant 1 of a total of 20. 89  built that year. Came out with Sauterne Gold Met Paint. Ivy Gold  interior. Bucket Seats. 289 Challenger V8 (200HP). 4 Speed Manual. with a axle ratio: 2. 80:1.  All of these factory options are proudly restored in its current form 46 years later.

Vehicle is secured in my garage and is currently full SA registration and Shannon's insured. This vehicle comes with Full Unrestricted Left Hand Drive rego for South Oz. (FALC-66 Plates are mine and not sold with vehicle). Vehicle is my own ride and not looking to give-away at any silly offer.

Body:

All the panels line up well with right gaps all around and no signs of damage or rust. The paint is near show condition and I would comfortably rate it 9/10. The paint looks maybe 5 years old and was done to a high standard. The body looks great with only a few very small imperfections if you're looking very hard. It hasn't been polished as-yet. All the glass looks great without any marks or blemishes. All the bright trims and bumpers are in great condition. The Chrome shows very well without any flaws or dents and mirror finish. I will say this is; “Rust-Free” all of the common places are completely clear of any signs of rust and all the floors are solid and original. No repairs to be found on this car.

Interior: 

It's in perfect condition having been recently replaced with all the original coverings and door skins. looks brand new. The dash and instrument panel are all in Tip Top order and condition. The original Stereo is still in place. no modifications to be seen anywhere. All the seats are in perfect condition. All the door-panels are in perfect condition. all armrests and handles (new) are in place and fully functional with ashtrays. Carpet shows up very nice with no marks or signs of age. All the windows operate flawlessly from open to close. I have installed an aftermarket stereo in the glove box. and hidden speakers in the boot/backseat.

Engine & Trans:

The 289 V8 block is original and sounds to be nice and tight with a mild cam. I've fitted a Edelbrock Intake and 650 Carb. Extractors. twin system with deep hot-dogs that makes this Falcon sound sweet. The engine is in good condition and the engine bay shows very well. Equipped with factory original power steering that operates very well without any play or signs of wear. Motor has recently been tuned after fitting Carb and Intake.

This coupe has the Factory 4-Speed Manual Top Loader box in place. Not too many of these with Factory 4-Speed getting around. It has the original and cool curved shifter and T-Bar for reverse. The Top-Loader works a treat; changes nicely without any noises. no leaks and nice clean fluids.  

Other Bits:

Additional work recently undertaken; New Pedder front springs. upper control arms. ball joints & spring saddles. 9' Diff was fully overhauled and refurbished. new rear spring bushes. new uni-joints. new rear brake shoes and spring sets.   Brakes are drums all round and have been recently over-hauled. It photographed with Tramp Bars connected. I've since removed these and will up date photos soon.
