1967 Citroen DS 21

 I have a 1967 DS 21 with Citromatic. I began this project with a car which has an excellent chassis. The car had been converted to LHM. versus the older LHS2. fluid. The car was to have been a donor to a Chapron
project I have. But once we saw the condition of the chassis I was reluctant to part it out. The car needed better body panels to start with and an interior. I sourced a donor car from Dave Burnham last fall which had
great fenders and doors and most importantly a very good interior. This donor car is a Pallas model and the plan was to move all the Pallas trim over to the first car which was a more basic D model. The car now has brand new Michelins on powder coated wheels. a new headliner and roof seal. The hydraulics have been gone thru with rebuilt spheres. flex hoses in the rear. rebuilt HP pump. water pump. triax boots. front rotors turned and new pads. etc. I had Euro turn signals installed and I have a set of NOS front Euro turn signals for the car. This car and the parts car have excellent bumpers. As I mentioned earlier the chassis and floors and rear fender lips are all solid. Front passenger floor. driver floor and lower trunk floor are solid. Suspension mounting points are of no issue. I had a manual steering installed in the car due to personal taste. ut a power steering rack goes with the car.

The parts car which goes with the sale has the better body panels which i have begun prepping for paint. All the Pallas trim. except the belt level moulding. is in excellent shape. The door cards are very nice and the seats are very good. The seat foam is a little crunchy so you may want to replace it at some point.

Now the issues. The head has a leak that allows coolant to leak into the cylinder. I drained the oil and there was no coolant in it so I assume the head gasket is leaking. The generator is not charging and will need to be
rebuilt. I have driven the car around the block a number of times and it shifts very well. but the clutch slips so you will need to pull the whole assembly to replace it. (big job). Suspension rides very nicely and the car raises very quick and stays up a long time.

Cosmetics are a big job since all panels will need to be stripped and painted. There is a very nice used but complete red carpet set that goes with the car. So you have complete Pallas interior to install.

Reason for selling: I have lost interest and do not want to spend the money to finish the car. I prefer Tractions. Normales if you have a trade.
