FOR AUCTION An Australian delivered Right Hand Drive 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88 Coupe.
Unfortunately. I have run out of time and money to finish this great project.
The body isn't perfect. There is rust in the right hand rear inner wheel arch and the paint has a few marks on it (I brought it like this).
I have rebuilt the front suspension with new upper and lower ball joints. tie rods. idler and pitman arms. new shock absorbers front and rear (currently not fitted to car).
The steering box and steering shaft have been reconditioned with new seals and readjusted.
The diff has been rebuilt with new bearings.
The engine isn't the original engine for this car. It is a Oldsmobile 350 cu engine that is currently dismantled. it has had all machine work completed and has had the rotating assembly balanced. It comes with clevite 30 thou oversize crank shaft bearings. hastings piston rings to suit new 20 thou oversize pistons on resized connecting rods with ARP rod bolts. a cloyes timing chain kit. reconditioned cylinder heads to suit unleaded petrol edelbrock carburetor and manifold Harland Sharp roller rockers. M select Mellings camshaft. new hydraulic lifters. professional products harmonic balancer. mellings oil pump. modified water pump. felpro engine gasket kit. Thundermax HEI distributor. chrome allen key headed engine dress up bolts. All the engine parts are brand new.
The auto transmission is a modified turbo 350 that has been fully rebuilt with extra clutches and the valve body has had a shift improver kit fitted to it. a rebuilt standard torque convertor is also included.
This car needs a interior overhaul.
The engine and transmission need to be fitted to vehicle.
I have front and rear bumpers that will need re-chroming.
It will need a wiring loom.
My loss is your gain with most of the major work already done.
