Concours prize winning condition; This car is impeccable order having been the subject of a massive restoration. It is always a pleasure to receive a car in this condition needing absolutley nothing.

Coachwork is by Hooper & takes the form of a delightful & dainty Doctors Coupe. The car is a six seater. having a bench front seat. two occasional seats behind the front seats & room for two in the dickey. making the car very versatile.

The car abounds in typical Hooper Features. from the Patent signal window to the pull out cylinder shaped parking lights. Wood-work is all from quarter sawn laurel wood in common Hooper fashion. Working semaphore indicators emerge from their recesses in the scuttle. A Stephen Grebel spotlight is mounted to the drivers side windscreen pillar.

To the interior is black hide on all seating surfaces. extending to the door cards. Carpets are black. The exterior paintwork is canary yellow over black giving the car a jolly & gay appearance; the paint being in impeccable order having been done as a body off project. A raked vee windscreen adds to the vintage look. The hood is a well executed simple affair that folds back easily with one hand after releasing to over centre style latches.

The car came off test on the 23rd March 1929; a late enough car to be fitted with the vertical radiator shutters. The original owner one Mr Reid of Glasgow specified the car to have an extra tall radiator at a cost to him of eleven pounds. the other half of the cost being generously borne by Rolls Royce themselves. A complete order & specification from from supplying dealer The Clyde Motor Company comes with the car & details many of the features we find on the car today. Cost of the body was £637 pounds. 11 shillings & 9d in old money. By 1936 the car had depreciated down to a mere £280. 00 when it changed hands in the used car trade.

A Hooper sales booklet comes with the car listing at the front some of Hoopers more prominent customers which reads like a who's who of contemporary upper class society. His Imperial Majesty the German Emperor's name is prominently crossed out in the list which we hope gives no offence to our teutonic customers. The car has its starting handle & wheel spanner located in the dickey seat area. The engine is fully rebuilt as is the extra tall radiator courtesy of the good folks at Vintage Wings & Radiators in Manchester. Visit them if you want to see true British craftsmen at work!!

To sum up this is one of the best 20hp cars we have had. The condition is beyond reproach. The coachwork desirable & of the highest rattle & squeak free Hooper quality. The driving experience sublime with a silent engine. taut. play free steering & an engine that pulls smoothly in top from walking speeds. It is not cheap; "the quality remains however long after the price is forgotten. quot; to quote Sir Henry Royce himself. Under recent ownership the car has gone round the Lake district & also made a tour of Ireland; a task it performed faultlessly & with aplomb. the local denizens doffing their caps at each arrival.
