1969 Jaguar XKE

When it comes to collector sports car there are many that say that Jaguar XKE roadsters are one of the most beautiful cars ever designed post war.   The XKE was an instant hit when it was first introduced in 1961.   Year after year it was always one of the most popular sports cars.   Generically the XKE is a collector car that is probably one of the most fantastic values that exist today for car collectors.   In addition to enjoying the beauty of the sculptured design. the XKE also handles with the best of sports cars and has an iconic engine that is that not only powerful but beautiful to look at.

All the refinements through evolution can be found on the 1969 XKEs that made the car faster and more dependable; at MissChiTown's opinion we estimate that the value of XKEs will undoubtedly skyrocket in years to come.

The car in this ad is a little bit unusual.   Cosmetically and mechanically the drive train is in fine condition. the engine was rebuilt 500 miles ago.   However. there are some issues that the seller wants to point out with the front suspension where it needs to be rebuilt with the bushings and in the rear axle where the seals are leaking allowing the oil to get on the rear brakes.  The seller wants to disclose that the car needs repairs to both the front and rear suspension to make it road worthy.   Yes this XKE does start. stop and run down the road now but when pushed the looseness in the front and the oil dripping in the back affect the safety of the car.

The owner is fully aware of the fact that the car needs these repairs and has optioned to reduce the reserve considerably so that the new owner can either spend the money to have the repairs made or do it himself to be way. way ahead of the game.

The seller has stated in his own words that the front end needs bushings. rubber mounts and alignment.   The steering needs tightened up.   The rear end needs rebuilt along with new seals and bearings. And the brakes should be redone. There is play in drivers side.  Rear view mirror has a chip.   Rpm glass has a crack.   Rpm may need calibrating.   Carburetors need rebuilt (very common maintenance item).

Engine runs great only 500 miles since rebuild.

The interior and the top are new.

Just check out the pictures in this ad and video to realize that the car looks like a gorgeous driver and it does need some extensive repairs to the bushings in the front and the seal in the back and perhaps a few other items to make it 100%.   Weigh this against the fact that the reserve on this car has been substantially been reduced in view of that and you may have the bargain of the year on a XKE.
