Concours 1980 ford escort mk2 RS 2000 concours condition only 51,000 miles

This auction is for the my multiple concours winning Ford Escort RS2000 custom. BCG904V which was registered on 28/05/1980 and supplied by UBM Ford Winchester.

BCG904V is one of the most success concours show cars in the rs owners club. 35 first place wins. 12 cars of the day and gold cup winner 1999. Last shown 2001 @ national day until this year at Knockhill.

The car has been magazine featured in Performance Ford October 1991 with a full spread poster (included). It is also featured in the complete story Ford RS Escort. The history behind the car does not get any better.

The car has covered 51. 00 miles with lots of history to back this up including previous Mot. . receipts and 9 entries in the original service book and most of them Ford. I also have all the correct handbooks from the supplying dealer UBM Ford Winchester. It still has the original registration plates. tax disc holder and rear window sticker. These are not reproductions.

It has had 4 previous owners all of which have looked after the car meticulously. I bought the car last year from a car collector from Northern Ireland who bought the car @ national day 2001.

I have refurbished all the component parts over the winter which were not that bad but I am a perfectionist and the car is back to full concours condition. I have all pictures to back this up and no bodywork was required.

BODYWORK

The venetian red bodywork is in superb condition and the car has all original panels. nbsp; the panel gaps are all correct and it is poker straight and level down both sides.  It has had some minor paintwork which was done over 13 years ago to keep it in immaculate condition. The inner wings are unrestored and in immaculate condition with all original stickers and vin plate from new. The boot floor is also unrestored with all original stickers in place. The car has mint original sills. back arches. floor pans and chassis rails and has of course never been welded and there is no rust on this car.

INTERIOR

The original chocolate brown cloth is original and the back seat looks unsat on. The carpets. head lining. seats. dash and door cards are all immaculate and it still has the original radio.

ALLOYS

The original alloys are in immaculate condition with dove grey coffins and still have the original fitment Pirelli CN36 tyres and the spare alloy and tyre looks unused.

Mechanically the car is excellent and I drove it back from Ireland with no issues. I have gave it a full service including timing belt. all new brakes and all genuine Ford parts used. Every part on this car is genuine Ford including :- Genuine Ford exhaust ( very rare ) ignition leads. brakes. suspension. tyres. fuel pump. steel brake pipes and radiator.

The car is photographed with 7" ronals and a motorsport steering wheel but these are not included in the sale. the originals will be fitted back onto the car which are in immaculate condition.

Summary

If you are looking for one of these cars they do not come much better than this example and with all the provenience to back it up. If you are looking for a show winner or a mint car for your collection then this could be the car for you.

Bad points :- there is a couple of stone chips which have been touched in over the years but the car was driven to all the shows back in the 90. s all over the country. I would not paint the car for these minor marks. The starter motor is sometimes a bit sticky and probably needs a new solenoid.
