Exterior

The 21 year repaint in the original Wimbledon White is in very good condition.   Since the repaint and body work. the car has always been stored inside.   There are only a couple of small chips in the paint. there is a small amount of discoloration where there was an exhaust hanger attached on the rear valence.   All glass in the car is free from damage.   Chrome is in good shape with no rust or cracking.   All lights and lenses are in good shape.   An accident required that the drivers door be replaced as such the VIN tag on the door does not match the actual VIN of the vehicle.

Interior

Deluxe Pony interior is in good shape.   Some upholstery pieces have been replaced. drivers seat is starting to show some wear.   Both door handles in the armrests are taped over from the usual wear that occurs.   Dash is un-cracked and in great shape.   Headline is also free from damage.   Owner has kept aftermarket floor mats in the car which has preserved the original carpeting.   Steering wheel does have a crack in it.

Mechanical

Engine was rebuilt approximately 60k miles ago.   Engine starts well. but does have a bit of hesitation and hard idle when cold.   Once warm. engine has plenty of power. transmission has no problems and shifts through the gears with ease.   Factory AC does not blow cold but compressor does click on when you adjust the temperature on the AC controls.   Factory AM radio is working.

The seller left a very thorough and complete folder of documents that cover all of the major repairs and service this car has had through its life.   Also included is the original window sticker and manual for the car.

This car is a beautiful example of an original condition 1966 V8 Mustang. the owner received the car from her grandfather who was the original buyer of the car. her stories and records show a huge pride in ownership.

This Vehicle's mileage is subject to increase as it may be test driven or inspected during this auction.

The Museum is open 7 days a week. 10 AM to 6 PM (excluding major U. S. holidays) and we welcome you or your representative to inspect the vehicle (by appointment only) prior to purchasing or bidding.
