1966 Ford Fairlane 500XL GTA 2 Door

This is my 1966 Ford Fairlane 2dr fastback 500XL 289 windsor/ C4 Auto and 8 3/4" diff

I have owned the car for the past 6+ years and it is in very solid original condition. needing only cosmetics to finish her off.

All mechanicals have been either rebuilt or replaced.

Original desert car from Arizona. car is straight. solid and 99% rust free.

Original paint colour is sage/gold metallic and is a stunning looking colour when not thin and faded!

Clean and solid underside. floors. frame rails etc etc

Full WA rego.

Straight original bumpers.

What you see is what you get. NO NASTY. EXPENSIVE SURPRISES HERE!

Within the last the last two years I have had the original 289 completely and professionally rebuilt (approx 3 years ago). runs beautifully. sounds awesome.

New 600 holley carb.

All parts of front and rear suspensions have been replaced with new parts. with only exception of front and rear springs which are original with new bushings.

New fully sealed HP Optima battery has been relocated to the boot inside polished ally battery box.

Custom white on black WA plates come with the car.

Large aluminium Dessert Cooler radiator with thermo fan. runs cool even on the hottest summer days.

MSD ignition and distributor. Mickey Thompson finned aluminium valve covers and finned aluminium sump.

Quality Custom ceramic coated headers and full 2. 5" flowmaster twin system. sounds very nice.

C4 Auto has been completely & professionaly rebuilt (approx 3 years ago) with hurst shifter. works great.

Recently installed power front disc brakes with Willwood vented rotors. callipers and all new brake lines front to back.

Original and fully reco'd 1966 Ford Fairlane power booster unit installed with new master cylinder.

Complete new Black factory GT Fairlane interior upholstery kit. carpets and door trims installed and full set of restored chrome armrests with lights. not yet fitted.

Autometer underdash oil pressure and water temp gauges.

Genuine Original restored woodrim steering wheel with genuine and uber RARE Fairlane centre cap and emblem. unique to 1966 Ford Fairlane.

Fully reco'd steering box.

A number of spares come with the car including a genuine and mint condition factory black centre console and shifter assembly etc if you prefer the factory look?

***My intention was to install a 429 Ford bigblock into the car and if buyer is interested. I can supply a complete standard original bore 1970 429 Ford BB with Dove heads

***Rebuildable C6 Auto trans plus a complete 9" diff with fully reco'd big 2. 5" finned HO drums that will bolt straight into the car.

***Also have full set of US custom made ceramic coated headers to suit this BB conversion and also full engine conversion kit for easy pain free install of BB.

*** (Please Note) The 429BB. C6. 9" diff. headers and other BB conversion items are not included with the car but are for sale and can be negotiated into the deal if so desired.

Car also has brand new "Crites Restorations US" Fibreglass RamAir hood as per the original factory 427 FE BB cars.

This hood has only recently been fitted and requires a little trimming of rear edge to attain nice neat custom fit. They are deliberately made slightly too long for just this reason.

Original flat steel hood comes with the car also.

Weld Draglites 15x8 rear and 15x6 front with 275 60/15 BFG TA's rear and 21570/15 BFG TA's front

Tyres excellent!

CD/Ipod player mounted in glove box with pair of rear 6x9 speakers

*** Also available but again NOT included with the car is a 1969 vintage. original standard bore 351 windsor and crank.

perfect for 408 stroker build if you want to go that road. and will bolt straight into the car with no fuss.

This is a very regrettable sale but if you are looking for a genuinely badarse mid 60's Ford Muscle car but you want to stand out from the endless boring parade of Mustangs. Camaros and GT's etc

Then this is a car for you!!!

This is basically a walk up start to build yourself a serious hardcore weapon or maybe just a nice clean factory spec 500XL!!!

I think we all know that REAL muscle cars only have 2 doors right and let me tell you. these 2dr Fairlanes are badarse!!!
