                                                       1971 UNIVERSAL JEEP BY AMERICAN MOTORS

This Universal Jeep still has its original factory paint as it did the day it rolled off the Toledo. Ohio plant. This is the FIRST year for AMC production of the Jeep.  AMC purchased the Jeep brand from Kaiser in 1970.  The color code is 434 "Vintage Gold". The paint holds a great shine as in EXCELLENT original condition with original interior.   The floor pans are solid and only have minor paint rub from the carpet.  This Jeep runs as well as it looks.  I get compliments on the Jeep whenever I take it for a short cruise.  Completely Rust/ Rot free and spent it's entire life in Oklahoma and Colorado. I purchased the Jeep last year from an elderly man and his son who use to tow it behind his motor-home from Oklahoma to Colorado twice a year (see original pictures). The Universal Jeeps odometer as approximately 62k original miles. The original owner believe more than half were towed. The engine compartment looks amazing. Here is your chance to own a great piece of American History. If you know Jeeps. you know just how rare these finds are in ORIGINAL condition. I have several  original vintage late 1970's photos of this exact Jeep from the original owner. Must see to appreciate. - Vintage original WHITCO BRAND cream white (like new) softtop- Original electronics. Original owner installed a vintage 70's Sears brand air-horn.  Period correct.  The vehicle has a toggle switch to switch from original horn to air (both work)- All headlight. parking. emergency. and gauge lights work. Gas and temp gauge work.  (original owner installed a temp guage that reads out numerical temperature).  Not drilled or installed in the dash. - Vintage AM radio and CB.  Radio does not have speakers installed (Original Jeeps had a spot for the radio. but no speaker holes in dash.  Original owner ran speaker wires to the rear of Jeep (no             cutting). - Custom  vintage small tool box located between the front frame rails (no cutting or drilling) can easily be removed. - Original vintage seats with no cracking or rips/tears.  - Front wheel bearings repacked and brakes adjusted. - Fresh powder-coated jerry cans. swing-away carrier.  - New spark plugs and tuneup- Recent oil and fluids change- New vintage loop pile carpet kit. - Fresh wax and detail
