The Jaguar E-Type was initially designed
and shown to the public as a grand tourer in two-seater coupé form
and as a convertible roadster. The 2+2 version with a lengthened
wheelbase was released several years later. On its release. Enzo Ferrari called the
Jaguar E-Type "The most beautiful car ever made". Open headlights without glass covers. a
wrap-around rear bumper. re-positioned and larger front indicators
and tail lights below the bumpers. better cooling aided by an
enlarged 'mouth' and twin electric fans. together with uprated
brakes are all hallmarks of Series II cars. The engine is easily
identified visually by the change from smooth polished cam covers
to a 'ribbed' appearance. The interior and dashboard were also
re-designed. with rocker switches being substituted for toggle
switches. The dashboard switches also lost their symmetrical
layout. New seats were fitted. which purists claim lacked the style
of the originals but were certainly more comfortable and air
conditioning and power steering were available as factory
options.

As confirmed by the Heritage certificate. this Series II E-Type
was manufactured on 30th December 1969 and shipped to the Jaguar
dealer in New York; in 1989 the car was repatriated to the UK.
Since then. the financial investment into this E-Type has been huge
with an endless list of work carried out. notably the fitment of a
five-speed gearbox and converting her to righthand drive. The time
that has been invested by the vendor to present the car in the
order it is in today is immeasurable. Three files of paperwork are
supplied with the car with invoices totalling in excess of £50. 00.
The vendor purchased the Jaguar in 2009 and set about turning her
into a concours car. In 2011 the car came second in the JEC
concours competition and in 2012 this delightful E-Type was a
worthy winner. resulting to an invitation onto the Meguiars stand
at the NEC where she attracted a never ending stream of admirers.
The effort the vendor has put in to make this such a splendid
example is quite remarkable. with an eye and attention to detail
rarely seen. The under bonnet area sparkles and interior completely
unmarked. The boot is spotless and even the genuine Jaguar toolkit
gleams. However. perhaps the best feature of this Jaguar is rarely
seen-the underside of the car is polished with the same enthusiasm
as the bonnet. It is hard to find any fault at all with this
E-Type. perhaps the best summary is by Brian Page of Classic
Assessments who after inspecting EHJ 432H wrote 'I have inspected
over 250 Jaguar E-Type examples within the last 15 years or so.
This example is. in my opinion. one of the very best of a handful
of Series II examples of comparable quality. The vehicle is superb
in every detail'. In our opinion. the car can be summed up in one
word. 'magnificent'.
