SELLER REMARKS

According to American history. this 1965 Mustang has all the right features: a bright red Mustang convertible with a 289 cubic inch motor. 4 speed manual transmission and a very presentable restoration. If you've been waiting for the right one to show up. here it is.

According to the door tag. this was originally a code H Caspian Blue convertible. but when it was restored a few years ago. they went with classic Rangoon Red. To be honest. this is probably the car most folks imagine when you say "1965 Mustang convertible" and there's pride in being America's favorite convertible. The clean. straightforward lines of the 1965 Mustang always look best in red. making it look as quick and agile as it actually is. The finish looks nice and is holding up well. It's still a great cruiser that will draw an appreciative crowd at the local cruise night and the tidy bodywork gives style cues to the newer cars. There's nice chrome. including the 1965 grille with cross bars and a rare Mustang hood ornament that looks good. It's still the ultimate summer time fun machine and this one matches that description perfectly: comfortable. casual. and ready to have fun.

The interior was originally code 22 blue vinyl. but during the restoration was upgraded with a white interior that offers nicely detailed pleats on the seating surfaces and contrasting black carpets. The workmanship is very well done and the seat covers fit snugly without any wrinkles. the carpets are new. and the center console houses a 4-speed manual. which is a somewhat rare find these days. It's got the GT-spec 5-gauge instrument panel. although the condition of the gauges suggests that it may very well be original and offering a bit of a mystery for the new owner to solve. The original AM radio is still in the dash and we're pleased to say that this car is very comfortable. The white power vinyl top uses a crystal clear plastic rear window and the trunk features a reproduction plaid mat.

There's no way to determine matching numbers in an early Mustang. simply because Ford didn't use correlating numbers. but we can confidently say that it is a correct 289 cubic inch V8. Originally a C-code 2-barrel. it's been upgraded with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor on a matching intake manifold. Dressed in bright corporate Ford Blue. it still wears a later air cleaner assembly. stamped steel valve covers. and its original cast iron exhaust manifolds. The 4-speed is the perfect companion to the quick-revving 289 and it has a robust feeling that encourages you to have fun. Underneath you'll find all the factory convertible reinforcements are in place and in good order and with 2. 80 gears out back. it's a great candidate for road trips. It's also worth noting that the front brakes are discs. again suggesting GT equipment is on board. and they live behind steel wheels with classic Mustang hubcaps and 205/75/14 whitewall radials.

You can pay more for a perfect Mustang. but then you might be afraid to drive it. This one is ideal for cruising and will draw all the same envious glances. Clean. reliable. and honest. this is the Mustang to own. Call today!
