FINALLY EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WERE SAND BLASTED AND CERAMIC COATED MANIFOLD GRAY.   BODY PAINT IS A REPAINT OF THE CORRECT OCEAN TURQUOISE DONE BEFORE I BOUGHT IT.

NEW MOTOR MOUNTS AND TRANSMISSION MOUNT.  REAR CENTER BRAKE LINE REPLACED AT TOP OF REAR END. AIR CLEANER RECONDITIONED WITH NEW STICKERS. FINALLY EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WERE SAND BLASTED AND CERAMIC COATED MANIFOLD GRAY.   BODY PAINT IS A REPAINT OF THE CORRECT OCEAN TURQUOISE DONE BEFORE I BOUGHT IT.

IN PREVIOUS AD I WAS ASKED ABOUT RUST. THESE CARS WERE PRONE TO RUSTING IN A HARSH CLIMATE. THIS CAR CAME ORIGINALLY FROM TENNESSEE. SO TO ANSWER THE RUST QUESTION.   WHAT WAS DONE TO THE CAR WAS THE TOP OF THE COWL WAS REPLACED WITH NEW PANEL. AND A NEW FLOOR PAN REPLACED IN THE DRIVERS FLOOR. THERE WAS SOME RUST ON THE SIDES 5 OR 6 SPOTS ON BOTH SIDES ABOUT 3 INCHES ABOVE THE CHROME TRIM LINE UNDER THE VINYL TOP.  WAS TAKEN TO BARE METAL AND TREATED AND PAINTED BEFORE INSTALLATION OF NEW TOP.  NO FENDERS. QUARTERS WERE NOT REPLACED OR REPAIRED . THEY DID NOT NEED IT.  ALSO ASKED ABOUT THE A/C AND WHAT I THINK IS WRONG.   I REPLACED THE A/C HOSES ON THE CAR BECAUSE THEY HAD LEAKED OUT FREON AND OIL. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO LEAKS IN THE AC SYSTEM.   THE A/C WAS MORE THAN LIKELY CHARGED AT ONE TIME . AND NO OIL ADDED WHICH CAUSED  INTERNAL FRICTION. IT COOLS BUT IS NOISEY. I DID REPLACE THE A/C CLUTCH IDLER BEARING. IF THE CAR IS SOLD I WILL FURNISH ENOUGH R12 FREON TO RECHARGE THE SYSTEM.   ALSO TRANSMISSION QUESTION.  EXCEPT FOR CHANGING THE TRANSMISSION FILTER AND REAR TAIL SHAFT SEAL . THE TRANSMISSION AS FAR AS I KNOW HAS NOT BEEN INTO. BECAUSE OF THE AGE OF THE CAR (46 YEARS) I WOULD ADVISE REBUILDING THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T CARE HOW FEW MILES ARE ON A CAR THE RUBBER PRODUCTS IN TRANSMISSION WILL HARDEN AND GIVE PROBLEMS AFTER A SERIOUS AMOUNT OF YEARS.  THE CULPRIT IS MOST LIKELY A FRONT PUMP SEAL.  THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS FINE BUT . THESE CARS WERE KNOWN FOR THERE TORQUE. AND I WOULD NOT RISK  DAMAGING THE MATCHING NUMBERS TRANSMISSION BY NOT DOING THE REBUILD.  TO REPLACE THE FRONT PUMP SEAL THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO COME OUT ANYWAY AND IT MAKES SINCE TO GO AHEAD AND REPLACE CLUTCHES AND WHATEVER ELSE IT NEEDS.  ALSO IN THE PHOTO WITH THE RED ARROWS. THE TWO TRIM END PIECES ARE PLASTIC  AND WERE BROKEN . ALSO THE REAR WINDOW WINDLACE NEEDS REPLACING.  A LOT OF THINGS I DID OR REPLACED I DID NOT MENTION IN THE ORIGINAL AD. I HAVE MANY RECIEPTS IF SOLD FOR THE NEW OWNER.

I AM A RETIRED AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC AND WORKED ON THESE CARS WHEN THEY WERE NEW AND WILL SAY THAT THE INSIDE OF THE ENGINE DURING MY INSPECTION WAS VERY CLEAN.   THE ORIGINAL OWNER OF THE CAR WAS 52 YEARS OLD WHEN HE PURCHASED THE CAR . SO HE DID TAKE CARE OF THE CAR AT THE TIME AND THAT IS PROBABLY WHY THERE WERE SO MANY OPTIONS ON THE CAR. I WOULD SAY WITH CONFIDENCE THAT THE ACTUAL MILEAGE IS 100. 44 MILES. HAS CURRENT TEXAS STATE INSPECTION STICKER AND REGISTRATION THROUGH NEXT YEAR . WITH YEAR OF MANUFACTURE PLATES.
