Up for auction is a extremely rare 1986 Mercedes Benz 300E Stick Shift 5 speed manual car. you will never see another one. There were very few of these stick shift manual family sedans made. I have owned this car for many years now and have loved it so. but it is time to move on. It has a clean clear title in my name. This car runs and drives great and has lots of torque on the highway. 90% of the miles on this car were done on the highway. I cruise at 90mph in this car. It turns a lot less rpm's than the automatic 300E's. What is the mileage. well the odometer quit working about 10 or 12 years ago at 214k. please read on. don't let the miles fool you on this car! It could very well go another million miles without even removing the head? I have another 300E that had 270k miles when the odometer quit many years ago. it still runs strong also. About every 10 years or so. this antique car could use a little restoration work. We are coming up on this 10 year cosmetic restoration work. You could drive around with antique plates on this car. it qualifies! I have some of this left over gold paint I will throw in for free if you want it. The clear coat is peeling on the roof. see pictures. This car will not let you down or leave you stranded. it is like a Sherman tank. it just keeps going and going. It never stops! It does not smoke at all. You could pick the car up in Nashville and shuttle it back/forth to California. It just never stops! It will need another set of tires in the next few months. The alignment is great. A/C blows cold. Heat blows hot. all lights and blinkers. windshield wipers work. Sunroof don't open. but don't leak a drop. Auto door locks stopped working. easy fix. The windows are professionally tinted as dark as legal. Anyway. someone will be driving this car 20 plus years from now. The drivers seat back has a hole in it. quite frankly. this gives the car character. I know where there is a very nice drivers side blue seat just like this one in a junk yard. I may try to get it? The original color of the car was silver. we painted it a dark gold color with brown trim. a gentlemans color. with a stick shift! The clutch is just like new. very strong. perhaps because all the highway miles? The car just passed vehicle emissions again last week. The rear end of this car is starting to roar a little. If I kept the car. I would probably swap the rear end axel out with a junk yard 300E rear end. Do some research. you may put a different fluid in the rear differential to quieten it down? I have been completely honest about the car. it won't let you down. or leave you stranded and looks pretty good too. The engine temperature always stays the same even in non moving stopped traffic for an hour or on the interstate doing 90 MPH. half way up on the gauge. It could use some more restoration work to be perfect. Oh. there is absolutely no rust anywhere on the car. Simply put. put another rear end in it in the next few years. or change fluid in differential. another paint job sometime and drive it for a decade or more and sell it. This car may very well be going up in value. as rare as it is? The rubber shifter knob has a small tear in it. I was going to order a wood shifter knob for it. I just had the oil changed 50 miles ago. it looks like honey. Valvoline 10w40. About every 33 days. the oil light will come on. I pull over and add 1 qt. of Valvoline 10w40 without even pulling the dipstick out. slam the hood and drive another 33days! How is that for science? Call me on my cell after 10am central and before 11pm at 615 218 5387 pick up in Nashville. Tennessee. call me! When you bring your license plate. you will need to cut the top 1/4" off of it. it is a European thing. don't ask! The stereo is a very nice after market with new speakers and a remote control. it rocks! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!! Payment with green dead Presidents on the spot is always best. Call! Please. if you are High Bidder. please pay! If you are going to bid. you should pick up the phone and call me. If you are high bidder. you have to pick up the phone and call me. This car is worth $1800 bucks! I reserve the right to end this auction at any time without notice as I am advertising it elsewhere as well. This add is costing me dearly! I have been more than honest about this rare Benz. if you are high bidder. bring your dead Presidents! More pictures to come soon.
