Model History

The Chevrolet Corvette (C1) is the first generation of the sports car by the Chevrolet division of General Motors introduced late in the 1953 model year and produced through 1962. It is commonly referred to as the "solid-axle" generation. as the independent rear suspension didn't appear until the 1963 Sting Ray. The Corvette was rushed into production for its debut model year to capitalise on the enthusiastic public reaction to the concept vehicle. 10900 cars were produced during 1961 in seven colour combinations.

Interior & Equipment

The original Fawn interior has been completely refurbished throughout. new carpets and unmarked door cards. new Stuart Warner gauges have been fitted. new Corvette steering wheel and horn assembly.

Exterior

Totally restored throughout in original Roman Red/White with an excellent paint finish completed around 4 years ago. Panel fit is excellent with perfect door closures and lines to the highest standard. All new brightwork either replaced or rechromed original parts cost in excess of £3000 with receipts to prove. The depth of shine in the paintwork is to show standard it's a pleasure to polish. The original optional white hood is excellent should you need it. New external lights throughout and completely ovehauled electrical system. The underside is completley waxoiled to an excellent standard with all the surface being stripped back prior to application this has not been caked on to cover or hide imperfections it has been done to protect the car for years to come.

Wheels. Tyres & Brakes

Complete with a brand new set of American Racing Torque Thrust II wheels and new 225/55/17 tyres all round. We also have an optional set of fully refurbished steel wheels with stainless trims and knock offs also on brand new tyres.

Engine & Transmission

350 small block Chevy with correct Corvette headers. recently been fully rebuilt and runs perfectly. the topend has aluminium rocker covers. new inlet manifold. new 4 barrel carburetor. new chrome air cleaner. new electronic distributor and leads. new hoses etc etc everything has been done. The original close-ratio 4 speed manual Muncie gearbox with Hurst shifter has been completely overhauled and a new clutch fitted. it operates perfectly and with ease.
