Chevrolet : Corvette

Up for auction is a rare 1982 Corvette Collector Edition with only 78887 miles on it. This vehicle is 1 of only 6759 made and has been owned by me for the last two years. The car is originally a US vehicle and was imported to Canada by the previous owner.  The vehicle has a clean Car Proof report (link below) indicating that it has had no accidents.

This vehicle is in excellent running condition and. except for a couple of things. seems to be all original. The interior is in great shape with only a few stains in the rear compartment. The leather seats have no rips in them. The radio has been replaced with a Pioneer AM/FM CD stereo with a handy remote control. The centre dashboard section is cracked at the bottom (presumably done when the stereo was replaced) and is also separating from the dashboard at the top. All the gauges are in working order as is the cruise control. power windows. power mirrors. nbsp;power drivers seat. opening glass hatch (this is the only C3 model that has this feature direct from the factory). rear window defogger. intermittent wipers. nbsp;tilt and telescopic steering wheel. power steering. and power brakes. Items that are NOT working are: power antenna (it is stuck in the up position so reception on the radio is still great). air conditioning. the blower motor doesn't work on "high" but does on all other levels. and the locks don't work (but a heavy duty "Club" steering wheel lock with laser-etched keys is included with this auction). Also. the car does not come with a jack and may not have a spare. I say "may not" because I'm not sure. I've never bothered to check.

The vehicle has had a new water pump and a brand new starter installed while in my possession and I have also had it regularly maintained and stored during winters.

As for the exterior. the vehicle has the complete stripe package although the main hood decal is cracked and faded.  I have a replacement decal that is also being included in this auction. This decal alone cost $395! The body  of the vehicle is in good shape. There are some scuff marks and stone chips on it. particularly on the rear bumper. Speaking of the bumper. the colour of it is slightly different than the rest of the vehicle and there are small cracks on both rear quarter panels where they meet the bumper. My guess is the bumper may have been replaced at one time but I don't know for sure and neither did the previous owner. The smoked glass roof panels are in great shape but the rubber weather stripping is in rough shape - not enough to allow leaks if it rains. but under heavy pressure like when washing the car. water does seep through.

As I said. this car is in excellent running condition. It is by no means in pristine. flawless condition. but it is also extremely far from being a hunk of junk. It is ideal for someone who is looking for a rare classic that they want to be able to drive in. That was the reason why I bought it. The only reason I'm selling it is because of an unforeseen loss of income and now I'm unable to afford it anymore.

The vehicle is being sold with no warranty and is in AS IS condition. My mechanic says that it needs 2 rear tires. a left front high beam headlight. a parking brake cable adjustment. and 2 lower control arm bushings replaced in order to safety. Please note that this list is just to meet code in my area and that other jurisdictions may require more work to pass safety.

The vehicle can be picked up in person or I am willing to drive it to meet you on the Canadian side of a border crossing at either Buffalo. Niagara Falls and possibly even Detroit. Other pickup and delivery options are also the sole responsibility of the buyer.
