                     CARL'S HOLLYWOOD MUFFLER SHOP

Up for auction is my 1962 GMC CUSTOM big back window 1/2 ton truck. This is a very rare 3 owner survivor truck that still wears 95% of it's original paint. This truck is a factory Custom truck and has the original front and rear chrome bumpers. two tone paint. factory chrome grill. and the custom emblems. I have had this truck for 3 years and prior to my ownership it sat in a barn for several years. The truck has 83. 59 original miles and has the original big block 305ci. V6 engine and original 3-spd. column shifted transmission with original hydraulic clutch. This truck starts. runs. shifts. drives. and stops excellent. The motor has no knocks and doesn't smoke. There is a small leak from the rear pinion seal. I have a new seal that will be included in the sale.  All the lights. blinkers. wipers. cigarette lighter. and spedo work. The fuel gauge does not work. I would not be scared to drive this truck anywhere. The truck has no rust and the floor pans are very solid. The frame and undercarriage is solid with only a few small rust spots on some cab mounts. It has the original 15" 6 lug wheels with nice radial tires and wide white Port-a-Walls (a plain spare is included). I lowered the truck with 5" rear lowering springs and turned down the torsion bars in front. It has 4 new shocks. The truck also has a brand new exhaust with a Thrush welded muffler and 4" chrome tips. I'm not lying when I say this truck sounds like a V8 and sounds incredible! This truck also has the original wood bed that has a few holes. but this adds to the patina. I still haul items with no problems (see photo). It has new black carpet and foil backed sound deadener under the carpet (see photo). It also has 2 new retractable seat belts and the seat has been recovered with new material. foam. and burlap. The dash. metal headliner. and door panels are original and have the perfect patina. All the glass is good and the window and door seals are not rotted and don't leak. It still has the original radio that turns on but the new kick panel speakers (see photo's) are not hooked up. This truck has new side stainless trim. I built this truck as a tribute to an old speed shop that was in Kansas City. MO and closed in 1969. From what I have been told Carl's Hollywood Muffler was the place to go for all your speed parts. All the lettering was applied by a professional sign painter using the best materials. The barn wood on the sides is over 100 years old. To say this truck gets looks is a gross UNDERSTATEMENT! No matter where you go. this truck stops people in it's tracks. At gas stations people come up to you and ask. At car shows it attracts way more attention than the $100K pretty paint cars sitting next to it. Do not buy this truck if you don't like attention. This truck will be featured in the next issue of Gear's and Gal's magazine. The dash and glove box lid are autographed by world famous car builder Gene Winfield. long time sign painter Bob Bond. and the model who posed for the magazine shoot. Also of mention. I have newer low mileage CCP 2" drop spindles and disk brakes that will be included with the sale. I also have a spare windshield. windshield trim. and side vent windows I will include in the sale.  Also. the original steering wheel will be included in the sale. The original wide white tires in the bed ARE NOT included in the sale of the truck but could be purchased separate to the winning bidder. Also. the black and gold California front plate in some of the photo's is not included either. In summary. you could look long and hard to find a truck of this rarity. with it's perfect patina. custom trim option. solid body and floors. and custom lettering. I built this truck to drive and turn heads and it does both very well. Anyone can have a SB Chevy motor but how many have the original big block V6 GMC motor. I have tried to describe everything I know about this truck. Keep in mind it's 50 years old and not perfect but it's a well built. nice driving. well sorted Hot Rod. If I left something out or if you have any questions email me. I have a fair reserve set to protect my investment. Terms are $500 non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of auction close via Pay-Pay. Full balance due within 96 hours of auction close via cash or cashiers check only. Truck will not leave my possession till all funds have cleared. NO EXCEPTIONS. Local pick up only. Buyer must make all shipping arrangements. Truck must be picked up within 2 weeks of auction close. I will not store truck longer than 2 weeks. I have a clear title in my name.  Keep watching my auctions as the white. low mileage original 65 Chevy will be for sale soon. Truck is sold as is with no warranties. Serious bidders only. please no scammers. Email with any questions. Thanks and happy bidding!!!
