Finished in striking Olympic Blue. this incredible Mexico recreation is visually every part a genuine example to all but the most conversant RS Mexico aficionados. An absolute bare shell rebuild is clearly evident and reveals the no expense spared mentality to this masterpiece. The impeccable paint finish is truly outstanding and would stand up to even the most extreme scrutiny. Incredible detailing extends to the underside of the car. where countless hours of refurbishment and polishing of components have been devoted. The spotless engine bay displays the same high level of finish. and will delight the most fastidious of owners and gain upmost awe from onlookers. The chrome and badges are in immaculate order. as are the contrasting original specification Mexico side and roof decals but the glass has some faint scratches. The ultimate marriage of period correct styling and exceptional craftsmanship.

INTERIOR
The interior of this vehicle has not escaped the painstaking program of refurbishment. The original dark blue deep pleated PVC covered seats are immaculately clean and free from wear and complement the exterior wonderfully. Spotless loop pile carpeting. door cards and headlining add to the pleasurable experience. The pristine RS three spoke sports steering wheel is present. now with undamaged badge. and the six dial instrument binnacle offers amazing feedback and useful information but the oil pressure gauge has never been connected. The boot area continues the showroom experience with the correctly positioned battery housed as per the earlier Mexico's manufactured and a complete boot mat is in situ. Pure 70's nostalgia.

ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
A detailed power plant that is guaranteed to delight and excite! This beautiful Ford Escort Mexico conversion has a proven 2. 0 Ford Pinto engine with a strengthened 205 ‘injection' block. Discreet modifications to the cylinder head and air induction system help produce a reliable 110bhp. A 4-2-1 configuration Ashley Sports exhaust emits a crisp bark that is intoxicating and addictive. A rebuilt Type 9 five speed gearbox with quick shift has been fitted with a new clutch and it housed correctly in a modified gearbox tunnel. The ultimate driving pleasure.

WHEELS. TYRES & BRAKES
Period 7J X13 Minilite alloy wheels are virtually unmarked and are wrapped in quality Nankang Toursport 205/60 R13 tyres with excellent tread remaining. The wheels have chromed centre caps with the Ford emblem. The brakes have been fully uprated to vented front discs and drums at rear providing safe and reliable stopping power.

HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 20th December 1971 as a humble Escort 1300L Automatic. this car lead an unassuming but cherished life until being purchased by Mr David Waine in February 2010. Mr Waine embarked upon an incredible quest to recreate a Ford legend with the right credentials from the offset. The car is a true spectacle of talent. Respected within the Ford community the Waine Brothers are renown for building some of the finest recreations to grace the Ford circuit and KGF Classic Cars are very proud after months of persuasion to be able to offer this to a very lucky new custodian.
