According to the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust  AH 3000 Serial Number HBT 16625 was produced November 29-30. 1961.

It was purchased in in early 1962 in Fort Worth. Texas by the president of Frito Lay. Fladger Tannery.

It was purchased by the second owner. an engineer for the FMC Corporation in Detroit. Michigan. name unknown.

On October 13. 1982 Louis “R” of Bay City. Michigan (full information can be provided to buyer) purchased it. drove it only in the summer and stored it in a heated garage in the winter.   He and his son Lee “R” of Durand. MI did the following in 1991: motor rebuild by The Euro Shop of Bay City. MI (cam ground in CA) and a fresh repaint in Colorado Red. its original color.   Subsequent to the restoration a mechanic dropped  something on the front left cowling.   It's had that blemish for the last 23 years.   See last picture.

It was rarely started or driven after that.   In 1992 car collector Don “W” of Flint. Michigan entered into the following trade:  a single family residence for Lee in exchange for this '62 Healey. a '67 Jaguar. a '67 Thunderbird. plus cash.   The Healey spent the next 16 years in Don's automotive museum along with other foreign and domestic collector cars.

16 years later Don listed this Healey on eBay and I purchased it on August 8. 2008.   It still had its 1992 Michigan license plate. a 1992 copy of the Victoria British catalog. an original shop three-ring binder “B. M. C. Service Parts”. a paper tag in the engine bay recording the compression test on the six cylinders (dated 8/23/92) and a Long Motor Corporation part number paper tag still affixed to the exhaust -- never having been burned off with use.   Its odometer at the time showed 60. 09 miles.   It was missing its side curtains. top bows and tonneau cover and the water pump leaked.   It was shipped to Wichita. Kansas.   (Subsequent contact with Louis and Lee lead to the discovery of the original side curtains. top bows and tonneau cover which were in storage and which they promptly shipped to Wichita).

By the close of this auction the odometer should read approximately 63. 50 miles.

Over the last 6 years the following maintenance has been performed:
