L78 Harry Mann Chevrolet Protecto plate survivor

This 1968 Camaro SS l-78 survivor was born in the Los Angeles GM plant on april of 1968. It came down the line as a very rare island teal 396 375 horse power car. It was equipped with a M-22 and 4:10 ratio posi traction rear end. Also came with power steering and power disc brakes. Camaro was ordered this way by the original owner who went to High School with Ron Isky. yes Isky cams. He was the one that helped with the options and power train. Original owner is still alive and I have spoke to him on the phone. and he sent me some original photos of car from day one. This vehicle was purchased from the legendary Harry Mann Chevrolet.  America's largest corvette dealer from back in the day. This 1968 RARE L-78 comes with PROTECTO-PLATE hugh plus with high dollar automobiles. car still has original leather Harry Mann key fob. side quarter window decal and rear dealer plate surround. Car is a very low mileage.  mostly original paint. all original body panel no patch California car all it's life. Has all original beautiful black 712 standard interior. even the carpet. Second owner passed away and his mother put in garage and it set for many years. till she decided to sell. I personally flew out to California inspected this car and had it transported back to my home in Ohio.  were car is kept in heated garage. I am the 5th owner of this vehicle. it is a awesome driving automobile. Original motor was removed from car sometime back in the day but retained. car was class raced by second owner. Car was never cut or modified.  there is still a Lions drag strip class winner sticker in back window of auto. So onto details. car at this present time is powered by a CE l-88 build engine with the original top end of car such as heads. intake and carburetor.  Block in car is dated C 26 8 casting number 3935439. has hooker super comp headers. lakewood bellhousing. centerforce clutch and hayes 30 lb flywheel. Original block comes with car as do many other original parts. car can be put back to original survivor status very easily. I never did because it is a total blast to drive the way it is day 2 style. new owner can make there choice. This machine is a awesome time capsule. alternator is 1100814 dated 7 H 2. heads  are 3919840 dated C 12 8 and C 5 8. thermostat housing is 3877660. radiator original reconditioned with original tag UN code. water pumps are 3856284 dated C 25 8 on motor and one for original motor is rebuilt and dated C 7 8. original voltage regulator in box 1119515 dated 8 A. original cooling fan and clutch come with purchase rebuilt by pampered corvettes ultra rare and expensive part dated 3-5-68  original entire jack assembly. exhaust manifolds 3909879 C 7 8 and 39196178 A 17 8. the 3909879 has a professional repair to front ear never can tell once installed. one xg rim dated 1-23-8 for disc brakes. flywheel 3789788 dated l-6-7. booster on vehicle is dated 67th day of 1968. master cylinder is casting 5460346. horns original. horn relay original. so are pulleys all correct and original to vehicle. intake on vehicle is original 3933163. carburetor is a 4053 list carb dated 8-3-1. air cleaner original with a 212 element. Car retains original date coded drivers door mirror. dated 2 DMI 8. All glass is original to car except front windshield was replaced with exact date coded replacement. due to crack. I still have original in loft. all glass tinted. All pollution equipment for this car will be received with purchase. believe I am missing one hose and passenger side manifold tube. Not a big deal. all original bracket and 3925522 pulley ar present. pump would need rebuilt before use. Starter is 1107365 dated 8 C 4. and transmission is 3925660 dated P8B14 with a tag on side cover of 3950318. Heater core original repaired dated 67M. hooked up and works. Original 4:10 rear end in car still retains original posi and ring and pinion. ring and pinion dated 2-68. Original block and rotating assembly on engine stand with a casting of 3935440. date of l-4-8. Block is +60 and has at some time in it's life has had a light decking to pad. Original distributer 1111170 dated 8A23 comes with car purchase also. This car has been certified by the famous Jerry MacNeish. and he stated TO320MQ block that had light surfacing on deck is original motor out of this car. Also number are still visible. trans may be a replacement. restamped. Rear is original to car. and engine bay clean and very original. Jerry states paint excellent original paint with minimal touch up. some to hood. Very nice example of survivor 375 hp. Undercarriage he states as excellent original floors and trunk no rust. original finishes on floors and splatter in trunk. And at end he states mostly original drive train L78 with little attention would be survivor status. Low mileage L78s are extremely rare in this condition. And Island Teal is rare and very desirable. He estimates car at 75k to 80k it will be sold for less. comes with all parts stated and PROTECTO-PLATE? Im sure I have missed something so if you are a truly interested party contact. Oh yes almost forgot car has F-41 suspension and original from assembly line front spring tags. Original from new factory muffler and tailpipes. reproduction bias ply tires exactly like ones in pics from original owner. Car comes with two sets of vintage mags as pictured. Front spoiler is also original as 1968 front spoilers did not have brackets. Im sure i forgot something. but happy bidding.
