Rare LHD 1950 Jaguar MKV Drophead for restoration, NO RESERVE, from Hyman Ltd. for sale
Jaguar's lovely Mark V. introduced in 1948. featured torsion bar front suspension. four wheel hydraulic brakes and a completely redesigned and lower frame with a 120 inch wheelbase. Power came from a 3. 5-liter overhead valve straight-six with twin SU carburetors to deliver 125 horsepower. The superbly designed coachwork was yet another example of William Lyons' affinity for svelte. elegant styling. and the three-position drophead coupe is both the most visually pleasing and the most desirable. The Mark V was built only until 1951. and this 1950 left-hand drive example. chassis 647046. is one of just 977 drophead coupes. It is in need of a complete restoration. but is a fundamentally sound and complete example. The only substantial rust is found above the running boards. and other than a dent in the left front fender. the body is fairly straight. Car is complete as shown in the photographs. there are no additional parts with the car. This will be a substantial project. but also a relatively straightforward one that will be both gorgeous and highly collectible when finished. Please call 877-550-9627 for further details!
