1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

 NO RESERVE

Thank You. for stopping by and checking out my 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air.   For the most part I am a Ford and Mercury guy. but there is just something about 1955 Chevy that I just absolutely love.   My dad had 2dr Wagon in  High School I always hoped to get that car it was on there farm for many years.   Found out over the weekend my father-in-law had a 2dr post just like this one his senior year.   He asked my the other day if this was his fathers day gift when he was over. how I ended up a Ford guy they'll never understand. nbsp;lol.    He just loved the look of it. because it looked just like he would want one. wheels. engine. trans etc.     I just love the raw style of these cars. they are just great looking. these to me are just great looking. and what a true old school hot rod from the 50's should be built out of.      This car is an older restoration about 20 years ago. and it has held up very well.   It is a great looking car. has a built 350 V8 with Camel Double back 194 heads. Muncie 4spd. Hurst Shifter. 10 bolt Posi Rearend.    This car starts right up. and just sounds mean.   This is not a trailer queen. wouldn't have one personally. this is a car that you can take to your local cruise in. or show and shines. the minute it gets of the transport and just enjoy yourself.   Please view all the pictures. read the description. if you have more question I would love to answer them for you.   I shot a little You Tube video of it staring up and running. it is not the best video sound wise. but you can get the idea.   Odometer has been replaced with after market gauges. so miles are unknown.   This is a True Bel Air. and V8 car. the VIN number tells you that. V is for Factory V8. C is for Bel Air.

The body on the car is in very nice shape.   The Maroon paint  was redone around 2001. and still looks in nice shape. has a nice gloss to it.   There are a few small chips but nothing major in the maroon paint.   When you look down the sides it is pretty straight. and looks nice. You have to look pretty close to pick up on flaws and such. this is a nice cruiser.   The white on the car has some patina to it. mostly on the top of the quarters in rear. it does have a nice gloss to it. but it is older lacquer paint. it has some small hairline cracking and crazing going on it has been like this for many years.   It is not bondo or filler cracks. it is very solid. and it is the paint.   You may want to have it repainted mostly the tail end white areas. to freshen it up again.   Overall it looks great. if you just want to enjoy it. but it will need attention down the road.   You may want to repaint the whole car down the road. color change. etc. it is up to you.   The sky is the limit on these 1955 Chevrolet's. so if you build them right. you can get a lot of money out of them.   Last one I sold was for around 115K. it was a very nice car. highly modified Pro Touring car. but was still on its original frame.    This car has lots of potential. but for me. I would just enjoy it. maybe put some modern 17-18" American Racing wheels on it. with an old School flare. and just enjoy it.    There are not rust bubbles on the outside of the car. everything is very clean. the rockers look good on it as well.   The car is almost 60 years old. and for its age. it is pretty nice.   There are some been some work underneath. like many of them have.   The rear body mounts right before the rear wheels have been refabricated and boxed in.   The drivers side rocker on the inside at least has been replaced.   There has been some minor floor work done. but nothing major from what I can see.   You can look the pictures over underneath and get a good idea of what it looks like.   For a car that has been driven and enjoyed. it is very solid for its age.   The frame is in excellent shape. no signs of any rust issues or repairs. it looks in excellent shape.

The engine is in great shape.   It is a 350. with a lumpy cam.   It sounds great. it does not blow any smoke or burn any oil. it has great throttle response. and just sounds tight and mean.    It has 1. 94 Camel double hump heads on it. these are pretty sought after heads. I have heard about them for years and this is what everyone wanted.    It has a polished Edelbrock Perfromer RPM intake manifold. Edelbrock Carb. long tube headers. exhaust stops before the rear axle. you may want to finish them out the back. but I love the sound actually.   It has a Muncie 4spd. 10 bolt Chevy Posi Rearend.   I do not know a lot about the internals of the engine. it as built about 6 years ago. and has very little mileage on it since it has been built.    The engine runs great. no issues. has also been upgraded with Aluminum radiator. and has Optima Red Battery.   No major oil leaks. but there is a small drip toward the rear. I think it is the transmission possibly.   It is not major. after driving it. nbsp;over the weekend it might leave a couple little spots maybe the size of dime.    The engine is very snappy. has pulls very good threw the gears.   The transmission shifts nicely. every gear is smooth. clutch feels great.   Reverse on these Muncie transmissions can be a little tricky. once you get the hang of it. you can get it in. just takes the right touch.    The rearend is rebuilt. it is a 10 bolt Posi. new drive line as well.   It has drum brakes all the way around.   The wheels are True Cragar Mags. 14x7 upfront with P235/70/14 BFG upfront. and 15x8 P255/60/15 in the rear. they have very good tread on them. probably around 95%.   The wheels are in nice shape. they have a little patina. but have a very nice shine to them.   I think they really look period correct on this car. it has an old school look to it for sure. but easy to take to the next level if you want to wheel and tire it.

The interior is in really nice shape. Excellent seats front and rear. door panels are clean. headliner is in very nice shape.   About the only thing it will need to freshen it up in the future is the carpet. it is useable but it has some age to it.   The steering wheel is in nice shape. old school wood wheel.   The side windows have a light tint on them. all the door glass. and side glass is in nice shape. and rolls down nicely.   The front windshield has no chips on cracks.    All the gauges are working on the 55. the horn and the wipers are the only things not working.   The wipers need to have a new wiper motor installed.   I have a good used one that I will include. just have not had time to mess with it. plus have not taken the car out in the rain. prefer not to. it is a nice car.     Overall the interior is very clean. NON Smoker.

This is a NO RESERVE. starting bid at $19. 55. yes NO RESERVE. top bid gets it.      Jason 503-910-2085
