SELLER REMARKS

This 1970 Chevrolet Malibu convertible is remarkable for a lot of reasons. One. it wasn't turned into a Chevelle SS clone like most of its siblings. Two. it's loaded with options like factory A/C and power windows. And three. it remains as delightful a driver today as it was in 1970. proving that you don't need a brand-name "muscle car" to have fun in an old V8 ragtop.


You know that Cranberry Red looks great on the A-body sheetmetal. and the Malibu is no exception. That's the car's original color. recently freshened with a bare-metal respray about a year ago. and it looks fantastic. The familiar styling looks a little less edgy on the Malibu. yet every bit as attractive. and it's really refreshing to not see a set of stripes pasted on its hood. Instead. you get nice chrome details along the fender edges. a standard grille that is in excellent shape. and a flat. smooth hood that doesn't show a single ripple or wave. indicative of careful bodywork. Body gaps are pretty even and the whole car fits together in a way that would be commensurate with a machine costing tens of thousands of dollars more. Other cool details include the fender-mounted turn signal indicators. bright chrome rear bumper. and '350' badges on the front fenders. indicating that this ragtop is still no slouch in the performance department.


White bench seats with black carpets and dash make the ideal open-air interior choice: stylish but not hot in the sun. The seat covers are in good order and suggest that the interior was either replaced a few years ago or it may even be original. hard to say. There are no splits or tears in the vinyl and the details are excellent. but there are light signs of wear on the door panels and carpets. Either way. it looks great and needs nothing to be enjoyed and shown today. The standard instrumentation involves a wide speedometer and fuel gauge. but little else. and you'll note that this car is equipped with options like factory A/C. power windows. power locks. and a tilt wheel. making for one luxurious Malibu. The steering wheel in in excellent condition and there's a newer AM/FM/CD stereo in the dash. A white power convertible top with glass rear window seals the car up in seconds and stashes below the original white boot that is showing a little age but is in otherwise fine condition. The trunk isn't detailed for show. but it looks reasonably good for being original. and includes a full-sized spare.


We believe the 350 cubic inch V8 is the car's original. numbers-matching engine. finished to stock specs and nicely detailed. Chevy Orange paint and a factory air cleaner give it an OEM look. and without performance upgrades. you know it hasn't been abused. It starts easily and has a happy burble through the recent dual exhaust system. and the TH350 3-speed automatic changes gears without drama. The underside is impressively tidy. more proof that this car has led a very easy life. and with highway-friendly gears out back. it remains an outstanding summertime cruiser. Factory Rally wheels with 205/75/14 whitewall radials capture the showroom look and ride well. since this car is all about comfort.

TERMS OF SALE  

1. Per the eBay User Agreement. by placing a bid you are entering into a legally binding contract and are committed to purchasing the vehicle described above. The details of this commitment are further outlined in the eBay User Agreement.

2. Vehicle may be sold by Streetside Classic Cars prior to the end of the auction. Streetside Classic Cars reserves the right to end its auctions early or to cancel bids solely at its discretion and shall not be held liable for any such cancellation.

3. The winning bidder is required to contact Streetside Classic Cars within 24 hours after the close of the auction to finalize the details of the transaction.

4. A $1. 00 non-refundable deposit is required within 48 hours of the auction's close.   This deposit reserves the vehicle and removes it from the market. Acceptable payment types for deposit are: credit card. wire transfer. cashier's check. and money order.

5. If winning bidder does not contact Streetside Classic Cars and submit deposit within 48 hours of auction close. vehicle may be made available to the next highest bidder or another qualified buyer on a first come. first serve basis.

6. Streetside Classic Cars has represented this vehicle to the best of its ability. Prospective bidders are encouraged to contact us directly to provide additional information or answer any questions.

7. Please be aware that all pre-owned vehicles. regardless of age. mileage. or manufacturer are subject to cosmetic wear and mechanical failure. Streetside Classic Cars encourages bidder to have a personal inspection completed prior to delivery to help ensure your satisfaction. Third party inspections are to take place prior to a vehicles shipment or delivery.

8. All vehicles are sold "AS IS" and with no warranties expressed or implied.

9. Final or winning bid price does not include shipping. tax. title. or registration fees. It is the purchaser's responsibility to provide for any state or local taxes and shipping expenses resulting from the sale.

10. We can assist you in delivery through our network of private and commercial carriers. Most of them can deliver the vehicle to your driveway. We assume no responsibility for damages or delays incurred once a vehicle is in a shipper's custody.

11. Streetside Classic Cars bears no liability and shall be held harmless for any complications. expenses. or damages resulting from a failure to meet these terms as they have been set forth and established herein.

12. An additional documentation fee of $199 will be added to the purchase price at the time of sale.
