 Description:

1970 1/2 Z-28 Camaro UNRESTORED with 29. 74 actual miles. No not a misprint. 29. 74 miles driven since new. This mileage has been documented with the 3 prior owners and when you see the photos you will realize that. The car has it"s original LT-1 350CI 360 HP matching numbers engine. original Muncie M-21 matching # trans. . and original 12 bolt 3:73 posi rear end. The engine and transmission has never been out of the car. History of the car is as follows. shipped to unknown dealer in VT. 5-21-70 and purchased by Gregory Moon. until 1980 and bought by Richard Thomas of N. Y. with car having 20. 00 miles at that time. (I have phone # of Mr. Thomas and talked to him in length about this car). Mr Thomas sold the car to it"s 3rd owner Frank Toce of Syracuse. NY on 11-8-1985 with 28. 00 miles. (See Hemmings ad from 1985 in photos. (I had to block out phone # as he still has the same one. M-22 is a mistake or misprint in ad) and Mr Toce sold the car to me 10-30-2005 with 28. 38 miles on it. which means he only drove it 838 miles in 20 years. not surprising as he had 12 other muscle cars. all originals in his collection which he was selling off due due to poor health.  Mr Toce passed away in 2007. There is no paperwork with this vehicle as it will not be needed. all the #"s and trim tag prove it"s originality to anyone who knows these cars. It"s nice to have but not a necessity to make it original. This car retains almost all it"s original parts and I will be honest what is not original as I take you through each portion of this very unique car.

EXTERIOR

Color is Citrus green and retains all it"s original sheetmetal and most of it"s paint. A local resto shop told me looks like RR quarter panel and roof were painted and if you look closely at RR quarter panel paint does seem a shade darker than R door. Other than that paint is in very good condition with a great shine. I would rate it a 7. 5-8. 0 on a scale of 10 with 10 being trailer queen. See photo of chrome strip at top of front winshield. 2 small areas of a bit of rust.

INTERIOR

All original never touched seats. seat belts. upholstery. headliner excellent. arpet excellent. all gauges work. The car came with an am radio which was changed to a 1970 am-fm by second owner so radio is not original. Notice the clips on front seat brackets to hold carpet in place. you don"t find these still around and they are on other side also. Notice plastic clips for shoulder harness are broken on both sides but still do the job. Weatherstriping all original and perfect. Interior 100% original except for radio !!

GLASS

All original and in good shape but for a few things. Note lower part of windshield drivers side looks like a crack about 3” long (covered by cowl when hood is down). I can"t feel a crack and am not sure if it is windshield or plastic part of dash. Also several small chips from road debris over the years. Side windows have normal scratches just about in the center from going up and down. very common for all these cars. Rear window and trim is fine.

UNDERSIDE

When I bought the car it was undercoated (photo) and I removed all of it. Nothing has been painted !! Front end parts all original. note factory markings on draglink and idler arm. and original tags on both front springs and shocks. Pitman arm is not original because 3rd elderly owner installed period correct power steering so manuel gearbox is long gone. Rear shocks and springs. gas tank and lines. brake lines all original. Brake rotors and drums. pads and shoes along with master cylinder. all original. Probably the same brake fluid! Front pads are about 75% worn. about right for 29K miles. I had to change exhaust system as it was leaking. I replaced it with a Gardner $1. 00 exhaust the closest thing to an original along with all the brackets. ( I still have old brackets) Note the factory markings on driveshaft. Underside 100% original except for power steering. pitman arm. and exhaust.

TRANSMISSION

Born with Muncie M-21 # matching VIN. shifts fine. no clutch slip or chatter at all. Must be in reverse to remove key.

REAR

Born with 3:73 posi. no problems at all

TIRES

Not original. but reproductions with almost 100% tread on all four. Spare tire may be original has a lot of age cracks but don't know how to tell. the letters on it are ASNBJBDL. Jack is original.

ENGINE

Born with LT-1 350ci 360hp # on front pad (photo) and vin on pad near oil filter (very hard to see in photos but can read most of them). Engine runs perfect carb. Was rebuilt but it is the original. Things changed on engine. tune up parts. belts. battery. negative battery cable. valve cover gaskets. ( I took them off for photos). Water pump was changed at some time as was fuel pump and short gas hose. Everything else original. These are normal wear and tear items for this mileage. Note factory paint markings still on hood hinges!

In conclusion. this is probably one of very few unrestored low mileage 70Z"s in existence that still retains most of it"s original parts and is this clean. It is not 100% original and I have pointed out what is not. I have described the car to the best of my ability. noting the flaws in photos. It is a 21 day listing plenty of time for you to inspect it yourself. if you come on a rainy day it will not be driven. as it has not since I cleaned underside. Car is sold as is with no warranty express or implied. and I reserve the right to end the ad early as it is for sale elsewhere.  You can buy them all day long restored. nice and shiny. but you never know how many different cars were used for parts during their resto. restamps. etc. . don"t need to think about that here. Car is priced at $58. 00 obo and if you think that is too high try to find another one like it to compare. you won"t. Serious buyers can call Paul at 508-737-1092 before 9 PM EST. ENJOY THE SHOW !!!
