1953 Cadillac 60 Special Fleetwood

 

1953 Cadillac 60S Fleetwood. 50. 00 Original Miles. This car was discovered in a local building and sitting for many years. I have restored the mechanical system and the car runs nicely. The car will need paint. interior and chrome to complete the restoration. This car could be a great driver while you complete the restoration.

Here is the list of the restoration work completed


New exhaust system with resonators.

All new gaskets through-out the engine. including manifold. head. and oil pan. exhaust manifold. etc.

Engine partially rebuilt including value job. rod bearings. main bearing. hydraulic valve lifters. cylinders honed with new grant cast iron rings. timing chain. compression is 120 psi

The engine was cleaned and repainted with the original color paint. entire engine compartment detailed.

Rebuilt the following. carburetor. generator. starter and solenoid. fuel pump. water pump. power steering pump and hoses. distributor. new wires. point and condenser rotor & cap. vacuum advance. ignition switch replaced with NOS unit. New belts and coolant hoses

This Cadillac is equipped with a Dynflow transmission that shifts perfectly. For those who don't know most 1953 Cadillac's were equipped with Dynaflow Transmissions instead of the Hyramatic. This was because the Hyrdmatic factory suffered a fire in early 1953 and Cadillac had to scramble to come up with a solution.

Oil pan and oil pump(rebuilt) cleaned and flushed. radiator flushed and repaired. gas tank cleaned and repair . new fuel sending unit new heater valve. heater & defroster fans rebuilt. new heater hoes. All Gauges funtion. Brake ights. Head lights. ReverseLights. Dash lights.

New brakes. master cylinders. wheels cylinders. brake springs. brake hoses. wheel seals. break lines replaced where required all wheel bearing checked and repacked.

Hydro-Electric Window Pump Completely rebuilt. replaced one window cylinder and repaired remaining three. power seat cylinder checked and repaired. all window regulators cleaned and checked new hydraulic lines and hoses. all window switches restored and functioning.

The Glass and stainless trim are in very good condition. floors and trunk are solid. It has radial tires that make for a great ride. original tire jack and chock in trunk

The car will need a complete interior. paint and minor body work. & chrome.
