 1965 Morgan 4/4 Series V

Of the 646 Morgan 4/4 Series V sports cars built. it is estimated that fewer than 300 have survived. Of that number. this car. chassis number B-1063 is. perhaps. the best example on the road today.   With only four owners from new. the present for more than twenty-three years. the car has been comprehensively rebuilt. including an extensive. chassis off restoration completed in 2011. since which time the car has seen only moderate use.

In the twenty-three years that the present owner has owned the car it has racked up an impressive 18concours wins and three "Best of Show" since 1998. including. the prestigious Peter Morgan Award. handed out yearly by the Morgan Car Club of Washington. DC to the best Morgan.   The car was featured in issue #10 ofMORGAN WORLD INTERNATIONAL magazine.   No mere trailer queen. it has also taken First In Class at more than 20 autocross events.   In 2011 was Solo 1 H-Stock Champion and in 2012 was the Solo 1 Sports Street Modified Class Champion in the highly competitive Blue Ridge region of the Sports Car Club of America.

Sold new in Arlington. Virginia. the car has spent its entire life in the South and. as a result. suffers from none of the structural problems that can plague older Morgans.   It is. quite simply. better than the day it left the factory.    Mechanically the engine has benefited from a significant increase in horse power. while the addition of a five-speed gearbox allows the car to comfortably cruise all day long at freeway speeds.   In addition to Morgan Car Club events. the car is eligible for vintage car racing. classic car rallies. and a host of concours. car shows. and other automotive events. as well as qualifying for classic car insurance and special “antique auto” license plates.

During the recent restoration the following work was carried out:
