SELLER REMARKS

Classic looks with modern performance. that's always been the Mustang dream. This 1965 Mustang coupe delivers in a big way with a stout 302 under the hood. a 5-speed gearbox. and a gorgeous color combination that really works with this car's combination of performance and poise.

The door tag says paint code A. Raven Black. was this car's original color. but the dark green on it today looks a lot like Ivy Green. and I can't fault the restorer for picking this elegant. upscale look. Of course. black or dark green. you still can't cut corners with the bodywork so they put in some overtime to get it straight before spraying any paint. The two-stage urethane has a deep gloss and highlights the gold underbase to great effect. and when the light hits it just right. you can see the ghost stripes that streak along the hood and deck lid. The only notable body mods are the scoops in the quarter panels that give it a slightly more aggressive look. and a Shelby-style grille that eliminates the running pony emblem. All the weather-stripping is new. so the car seals up well and feels tight and solid on the road and the chrome bumpers are brand new.

The black interior looks quite stock so most onlookers will never guess what's lurking under the surface of this innocent-looking pony. New seats and carpets make it look fresh and it's kind of nice to see that they kept the stock seat covers instead of upgrading to the Deluxe Pony interior that so many restorers choose. The door panels are older or possibly even original. but still look good enough to remain in place in this really tidy car. 1965 Mustangs used the wide speedometer flanked by auxiliary dials and it still looks great after all these years. while the modern Vintage Air A/C system is a lot more functional and well-integrated than the factory add-on piece. A center console is a desirable option and thanks to the wonders of Mustang interchangeability. a T5 5-speed manual transmission fits like the factory intended it to be there in the first place. Nice-fitting Mustang-logo floor mats protect those new carpets and there's a new mat in the trunk as well.

You can forget about a stock 289 when you open the hood. because that's a built 302 that fits perfectly and makes big horsepower. Upgrades include Trick Flow aluminum heads. an Edelbrock intake and carburetor. Mallory distributor. and a dress-up kit that looks suitably vintage. The all-black engine bay looks tidy and very well-engineered. and the way this engine runs will remind you that the late-model 5. 0 was a direct descendant of this car. The A/C system is neatly integrated and unobtrusive and a big radiator up front keeps it cool. Centerforce supplied the clutch that hooks it all up. and with that T5's towering overdrive gear. the 3. 73s in the 8-inch rear end still cruise easily on the highway. Hedman headers and a brand new dual exhaust system sound awesome and with those 17-inch wheels and 245/45/17 performance radials. it looks and handles extremely well.

Finding an early Mustang with this much performance isn't cheap or easy. and to have it also look this good and show this much polish is a special find indeed. Call today!
