1969 Alfa romeo GT junior step nose

Hello and welcome to the auction for my lovely Alfa. These cars are very rare in the step nose form and this car is a shear delight to look at and drive. I have driven this car for approximately 1000 miles just within the last 2 months and it is enchanting.

These cars have an amazing ammount of character. something I have only ever found with italian cars.

I am a Ferrari Technician so I know a good car from a bad one. this car has had all of the money spent so all you need to do is put petrol in and enjoy.

The car came to the UK in 2003 after residing in sunny Italy. The sun had clearly been kind to the car as this is a lovely solid example. which is increddibly difficult to find now. The car remained with the same family until my purchase. During the 11 years that they owned the car. a small fortune was invested on improving and maintaining this beautiful car (Over £20. 00).

Bodywork:

Clearly an older restoration. the bodywork is in remarkably good condition. The paint finish is lovely and has an increddible shine to it. The gaps are all spot on and the sills are in great condition. As soon as the car arrived in the UK. the underbody was treat to a liberal coat of rust proofing wax and it has weathered very well as a result. The door shuts and bonnet/ boot shuts are equally immaculate and it really is a car that anyone would be proud of. All chrome work is in outstanding condition and looks as new.

Interior:

One of my favourite parts of this car is the interior. it is wonderfully original and has a patina often lost in overly restored cars. All trim is original as are the floor mats. It is evident that the car has been well looked after by the astonishingly little ammount of wear on these original finishes. The dash board is supurb. no cracks or warping. Everything works perfectly. including all electrics and original switch gear. this isnt a car that has been hacked about with horrible wiring and switches everywhere. it is as Alfa intended it to be. All bright work inside the car is immaculate as is the head lining. there is a period correct Motorolla stereo installed that has been converted to FM. this works impeccibly well and adds a touch of sophistication to this classic car.

Engine;

The 1300cc engine fires up instantly from hot or cold and sounds very impressive. it idles well and performs surprisingly well for its tiny size. When I drive this car. nbsp;I never find my self wanting for any more power. nbsp;I find the 1300 engine charming and getting the most out of it is a pleasure. The oil pressure is perfect whether hot or cold and the car runs at a nice temperature (80*c) The engine has benefitted from a recent top end rebuild. the engine bay is very nicely presented. nbsp;I have the original air box too should the new owner wish to revert back to standard. but the free flowing inlet trumpets make for an increddible induction noise! The exhaust is very recent too.

Gearbox:

Once upto temperature. the gearbox is lovely to operate. care must be taken with second gear when cold but this improves greatly when the oil heats up (Common alfa quirk) the car has recently received a new clutch and slave cylinder and naturally. the clutch feels as new.

Suspension:

The previous owner treat the car to an Alfaholics handling kit which has completely transformed the car. it is unbelievably well planted and it is great fun to drive 'enthusiastically' down you favourite stretch of country road. There are no clonks or bangs to be heard and no vibrations.

Wheels and tyres:

The car still wears the original wheels and hub caps. they are in fantastic condition. The tyres are in good condition although show signs of age (Minor cracks).

Boot:

The original rubber mat is in place as is the spare wheel and tyre. The wheel well is in great condition as is the boot floor.

Paperwork:

This car comes with a large wedge of receipts documenting everything that has been carried out to it. I stopped counting at £20. 00! the car is MOT'd for a year and has 11 months TAX (tax exempt)

Summary:

this is a gorgeous car that drives sublimely. i am certain that one day these cars will be worth a lot of money. It brings a smile to your face everytime you drive it and it truly is a car to be proud of. A small fortune has been invested in the car meaning the new owner can simply enjoy.

The car is LHD and I am more than happy to deal with over sea buyers.

I am asking just £18. 95 for this car.

Please call me on 07930948588 for any information or advice. or a time to come and view/ buy.
