The 4973cc. R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of
the fast and reliable grand touring convertible from Mercedes-Benz.
Born out of the earlier 500SL models. the new SL500 featured many
new and innovative ideas for the time such as controlled electronic
damping. automatically expanding roll over bar and a more modern
multi link rear axle. A fully operating electric hood. windows. br/>door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to
operate. With powerful engines. stopping power was aided by
anti-locking braking for reassurance. During 1995. a mild facelift
was carried out to the model range that included revisions to the
head lights. tail lights and several new features adopted as
standard including side air bags. automatic climate control and
ESP.

The Mercedes-Benz SL500 offered today is one of the facelift
models and importantly includes the desirable panoramic hardtop.
Purchased by an avid classic car collector for his personal
transport it has been fully maintained and looked after having
recently been repainted in the original blue with a blue mohair
roof and grey leather interior. This SL500 is supplied with a V5C
registration document. an MoT test certificate which expires in
April 2015. old MoT certificates and a file of invoices. Taking
into consideration its condition and mileage. this represents
excellent value given the low estimate.
